You wait 30 years for Orbital to do a studio version of Halcyon which includes the Bon Jovi/Belinda Carlisle mashup and then...... they still don't. Bastards.

For a terrifying moment, I thought you had posted up a track off an album made by the cast of that terrible TV show, Bread!

C86 jangly heroes, The Chesterf!elds have a new album and possibly a tour on the way, and here's the rather lovely single, a tribute to their late singer Davey, who was killed in a hit and run in 2003. I met and chatted with him once in the late 80s after a gig at the Concorde in Brighton. He gave me a tin of Castlemaine XXXX and he was a top bloke.

Anyone who was into that scene should stick with this for the nice surprise at 2.15.

I'm guessing its just the singer and the bloke with the red guitar who go back to the 80s in that line up?

Not a band I keenly followed (although I think I saw them play once), but there wasn't a female originally, was there?

With her involved, they sounded a bit like The Bowerbirds.

So, it's 86 day, is it?

I think just one of them actually. He sang on Ask Johnny Dee, but usually just played guitar back in the day.

This was on an alternative 80s playlist I was listening to earlier. What a tune.
