Nope. He'll be off to Chelsea in the summer for half that.

Re: Declan Rice
As lescott pointed out at the weekend grealish wasn't a £100m player , he was worth £100 million to villa so they had to pay it
I think we would be lucky to get 80 million for him personally

Re: Declan Rice
Ogbonna obviously isn't fully fit or first choice. Most on here want to see Cresswell dropped. I'm not sure either of those would be a better captain right now than Rice

Re: Declan Rice
I think declan rice has been excellent and he was the only one who gets any credit recently. I'm not sure what he can do if the 4 forward players In front of him have about as much attacking fluidity, chemistry and composure as a team from the artic circle.

To think this thread is up near the top and yet Tomas Soucek's isn't even on Page 1.
Typical. Clearly even being smacked in the face with what the problem is isn't enough.

Re: Declan Rice
As I said. Club captain has been done before
Rice can look good with his armband on but we need someone behind the scenes getting the players heads up and motivated , ogbonna and cresswell is why I said that.
I go back to point a . Rice doesn't seem mature enough for club captain role.

Re: Declan Rice
Did nothing wrong today. Did his job and more. Not his fault that play broke down every time it went beyond him.
£150m? I always felt that was toppy but easily a £100m player.
Re: Declan Rice
Should have cut the goal out before it reached maupay for me. for this "world class" cdm and £100 million worth of back line we spent in the past 2 years we let in far too many goals
Doesn't shield them enough

Re: Declan Rice
And yet Scott Parker managed.
Rice is a great player but to completely excuse his performances as if we're beneath him is letting him off easy.

I’m not? I think Rice has played well this season.Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 5:37 pm And yet Scott Parker managed.

Re: Declan Rice
Off the pitch maybe. I mean his golf game has come on and his brand has grown with appearances on the telly . (Do you see footballers often on the TV before they retire during the season?)
But on the pitch he hasn't looked a patch on his performances that earned him praise the past 2 seasons

Re: Declan Rice
I think it was certain anyway, which is half of the problem. He's playing well enough but there's an air of inevitability that he'll be elsewhere come September 23.
Re: Declan Rice
Just because he hasn’t been as good, doesn’t mean he hasn’t been good. He’s only had one or two iffy games and he’s playing with players who are woefully out of form or simply not good enough.mumbles87 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 5:42 pm Off the pitch maybe. He is still our only player who shows quality consistently.
Re: Declan Rice
Someone already mentioned it on here.. Parker single handedly kept us up and was dragging us forward , keeping us in games
For someone who's suppose to be a class above Parker and wants to be prime Gerrard his goals and assist ratio are awful
Let's not mention his pens either
