Re: Declan Rice
When do we put the "real" deal on the table?El brooko79 wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 10:28 pm Respect you opinion mate, and we all have our own views and won't really convince anyone on a forum to see it differently.
But they for me they/he is so out of his depth he cannot see no way Rice signs an 8 year deal or its for show to suggest everything possible was done. Neither ideal.

They went from 17th to 4th.Hugh Jargon wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 10:53 pm Moyes is pragmatic about the Rice situation. He wants to get max price for him and replace him with 3 or 4 I think. He did that with Rooney and brags he improved the team

Re: Declan Rice
Plus, if anyone believes (as some are trying to peddle to mock Moyes) that he singlehandedly made the decision in Rooney than they are bonkers
...as now with Rice
Moyes made the best of a situation with Rooney... he'll try and do the same with Rice if it comes to it

Re: Declan Rice
That's twice Mr. Pardon has tried to mock Moyes for claiming Everton improved after selling Rooney despite going from relegation battle to Champion's League qualification.westlondonhammer wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 8:16 am Plus, if anyone believes (as some are trying to peddle to mock Moyes) that he singlehandedly made the decision in Rooney than they are bonkers

Just feels like this total inaccuracies should be pulled up.

Re: Declan Rice
Mason Mount of all people is expected to fetch Chelsea £50m or so with only a year left on his contract.
Makes very little sense to sell Declan this summer.

If Mount is worth £50m with a year left then Rice is easily worth £80m with a year left.Aztec Hammer wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 12:31 pm Mason Mount of all people is expected to fetch Chelsea £50m or so with only a year left on his contract.

And likely makes up the difference and some with his contributions to our season next year.Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 12:42 pm If Mount is worth £50m with a year left then Rice is easily worth £80m with a year left.
Also would continue to legitimise us and attract a higher level of player to the club, Paqueta quality.
I think we have the capability of being special with Dec and Lucas having another year together.
Re: Declan Rice
We’ve offered him numerous deals that would have given him (at least £50k extra per week).
The first of those was at least a year ago.
Therefore, he has opted out of £2.5 million in order to not sign a new deal.
The reality is almost certainly significantly more than that.
Still think he ‘might’ stay…?

Why wouldn't he stay, he effectively has two years remaining on his contract?hammersk wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 1:31 pm We’ve offered him numerous deals that would have given him (at least £50k extra per week).

Re: Declan Rice
Is the general feeling then that for any chance to retain Dec we have to win the ECL?

Re: Declan Rice
Hardly worth offering him a 3 year deal when he'll still have 2 years remaining on his existing contract. They've already offered 4 different contracts that have all been rejected, which you'd think would be on various different contract lengths to try and persuade him to stay.
The way I'd play it from this point, is reject all offers this Summer, invest heavily to try and get the Club in the top 4 so to give him the Champions League football he so craves. Then if we manage that, that's the point to offer him a new deal whilst we got Champions League football and hopefully the ECL also under his belt. He just won't entertain any length of contract from us before that point. And if we don't manage it, then sell him to the highest bidder reluctantly.

Re: Declan Rice
I wish him the best for him whatever happens but standing there today listening to his name he sang and the admiration from the away end must enter his thoughts. He will likely never go anywhere where he’s as loved and cherished as here. I think if we win the ECL he may just say f*** it give it another year

Re: Declan Rice
I love the sentiment that he would stay but looking at him closely today after game whilst his name was being sung,it looked to me like a look of resignation and that he was on his way.
Just my take on it
