You know, those stats, and especially his tackling ones (2.1 per 90 based on WhoScored), are great, but one of the more impressive ones I just saw is he averages 0.6 fouls per 90. All that defensive work and he gets so rarely penalised because his work is so precise.

I think that's one area where he and our whole squad are a bit naive. Outside of setting up for set pieces we never seem to push the boundaries of what a ref is willing to let go.

Right, so he's likely to be interested in Germany because - on your say so - its a nicer place to live in, than where he was born (which is moot) and he would be able to speak English to roughly half of the people?

Like most, my preference would be for Dec to go to any club outside the premier league. But you have to be realistic at the same time....

That top number is ridiculous. In a team that's content to let the other side have possession he still turns it over almost ten times a game.

And he always does it as clean as a whistle. It's not just the amount of times he does it, it's how he also does it so cleanly, time and time again. In this day and age of football where it's never been quicker, stronger and intense it's an art form he has perfected winningnthe ball back the way he does. You rarely see him getting his kit dirty by going to ground, it's Bobby Mooresque the way he reads the game and comes away with the ball cleanly.

I'd agree but I'd expect Bayern to really go for him.

The reality is imo that if Rice did go, he would likely want to come back to the premier league in 3-4 years and Bayern could sell him for a similar fee. Essentially just paying his salary for that time.

It reiterates that we should maintain our stance on price.

One important factor that Rice should consider and what no one else hare has mentioned if he does choose Bayern, at Oktoberfest time he will have to dress up in lederhosen and the the rest of the traditional Bavarian garb when the players make their annual visit, it wouldn’t be for everyone.
