YorksHammer wrote: Tue May 30, 2023 1:48 pm You know, those stats, and especially his tackling ones (2.1 per 90 based on WhoScored), are great, but one of the more impressive ones I just saw is he averages 0.6 fouls per 90. All that defensive work and he gets so rarely penalised because his work is so precise.
I think that's one area where he and our whole squad are a bit naive. Outside of setting up for set pieces we never seem to push the boundaries of what a ref is willing to let go.

If he goes to Bayern then their midfield could read:

Wanner Muller Rice

To which the answer is, yes please, with chocolate sprinkles.

52% of German's speak English fluently, which is strangely higher than the percentage of English people that speak any foreign language (36%)

If Aresenal want him for the £70m that they have offered, then I would consider that amount if they also threw in:

1. Folarin Balogun
2. Emile Smith Rowe
3. Nuno Tavares
4. Kieran Tierney
5. Reiss Nelson

Right, so he's likely to be interested in Germany because - on your say so - its a nicer place to live in, than where he was born (which is moot) and he would be able to speak English to roughly half of the people?

Arsenal will be back to top 4 challengers at best next season, Rice knows it, everyone knows it, they will be nowhere near City, the Liverpool resurgence or potentially Man Utd.

I hope he goes to Bayern or City (maybe Man Utd at a push). Everyone else can get to f***. Especially Chelsea.

Like most, my preference would be for Dec to go to any club outside the premier league. But you have to be realistic at the same time....

Danny's Dyer Acting wrote: Tue May 30, 2023 1:39 pm That top number is ridiculous. In a team that's content to let the other side have possession he still turns it over almost ten times a game.

And he always does it as clean as a whistle. It's not just the amount of times he does it, it's how he also does it so cleanly, time and time again. In this day and age of football where it's never been quicker, stronger and intense it's an art form he has perfected winningnthe ball back the way he does. You rarely see him getting his kit dirty by going to ground, it's Bobby Mooresque the way he reads the game and comes away with the ball cleanly. 👌

Jude Bellingham seems to have managed in Dortmund, I don't think that language is an issue these days. I don't think it would be the barrier it may have seemed 20 years ago.

Since then. Salihamidzic sacked. Neppe being on gardening leave as he might join Spurs.

It's a good story to get 30k to 50k more out of Arsenal if Decs likes to.

And a good story for Bayern to distract from their inner turmoil. They just their entire sporting hierachy apart from Tuchel on Saturday.

I'd agree but I'd expect Bayern to really go for him.

The reality is imo that if Rice did go, he would likely want to come back to the premier league in 3-4 years and Bayern could sell him for a similar fee. Essentially just paying his salary for that time.

It reiterates that we should maintain our stance on price.

As long as Tuchel is there, I am not counting it out. He obviously adores Rice.

One important factor that Rice should consider and what no one else hare has mentioned if he does choose Bayern, at Oktoberfest time he will have to dress up in lederhosen and the the rest of the traditional Bavarian garb when the players make their annual visit, it wouldn’t be for everyone.
