Re: West Ham United v Southampton Match Thread
I have just read Moyes had them all in today for a 2 hour training session in the pissing rain at the Rush Green training ground and there were photos to prove it. Which begs the question, what was the point of that Miami jolly ?

-------------------------Adrian
-------Kouyate-----Ogbonna-----Cresswell
Zabaleta--------Noble------Rice-----------Masuaku
--------------------------Lanzini
---------------Antonio----------Arnautovic
Other option is to play Antonio wing back and put Hernandez up top. I just think we need the pace and power of arnie and antonio to get any success from moyes negative tactics.

Re: West Ham United v Southampton Match Thread
I think tomorrow is less about who plays and more about if we come out of the blocks looking like we want it.
If Arnie has the bit between his teeth and Nobes is able to somehow inspire a bit of fight, then we’ve got a chonce. If it’s the usual negative, tentative dross then it’s going to turn ugly pretty quickly. I’m hoping for one or two early crunching tackles to gee things up a bit.

At least they have an excuse, selling ALL their best players.kayahammer wrote:Was it only two years ago us and Soton were fighting for champion's league places?

“Ex” reporting Ginge our and 2 changes from Burnley. Shame the two aren’t Gold and Sullivan.

Rice and Masuaku then I suspect with Mario or Lanzini (if he has a slight knock) dropping to the bench.Westbourne Bill wrote:“Ex” reporting Ginge our and 2 changes from Burnley. Shame the two aren’t Gold and Sullivan.

A loud rendition of 'Give it the old Razzle Dazzle' from the fans would be good and I'm sure Dildo Bros will get the point. It may even be more powerful than marches, pitch invasions and protests. I also think the press will have a field day with this too

You’re assuming they’d feel shame at this. They have no embarrassment about how they’ve made their money.Puff Daddy wrote:A loud rendition of 'Give it the old Razzle Dazzle' from the fans would be good and I'm sure Dildo Bros will get the point.

Eton, if that happens & I haven't put a bet on, I will be very unhappy. At the same time, I will be very happy.Etonhammer wrote:I missed the second half where we had won 4-2 with Ogbonna scoring the last goal.
If any of you believe in anything like precognition William Hill are offering 80-1 on that result

Undoubtedly correct, given that one of their son now parrots that his dad is a 'billionaire' who made his money in a life dedicated to 'making people happy'.OohAahButler wrote:You’re assuming they’d feel shame at this. They have no embarrassment about how they’ve made their money.
Yes, he said 'billionaire'.

Bizarre to say it but didn't sleep well last night as so nervous about today, both on and off the pitch!

Not bizarre at all, neither did I. Hearing that Hart will be in goal today hasn't done much for the nerves either.griff123 wrote:Bizarre to say it but didn't sleep well last night as so nervous about today, both on and off the pitch!

And so here's the latest in a familiar trend of 'must win/must not lose' games , the third in a sequence of 'should win' games and still we wait. If we're still waiting this evening then it's as good as done I think.
This one feels like the most important game for years in so many ways.
Off to work now, not sure I'll be doing much after 3 o clock

I don't think I have been more nervous about a game in a very long time.griff123 wrote:Bizarre to say it but didn't sleep well last night as so nervous about today, both on and off the pitch!

Re: West Ham United v Southampton Match Thread
Most match days I wake up early buzzing, especially after an international break.
This morning I was up at 5ish but feel really nervous and apprehensive about today. Debating not wearing a retro shirt as I got dressed as I didn’t want to seem like I’ve gone along with Ex’s suggestion as the bloke really grates me... However, it is my usual attire (I have quite the collection from Score Draw and wear one of those or a club polo most games) so I thought sod it and I am sat in my ‘66 Home shirt. Drinking my tea out of my club mug I’ve had for nearly 20 years, waiting for the Mrs to finish breakfast and debating how early to get the train to be in Black Bull for a few jars.
Really haven’t got a clue what will happen today... on or off the pitch.

Saints see this as three points to them and are convinced that they will come away with the spoils. They have some young players with pace about them and know we will tire in the last period of the game we need to score early and get a bit of breathing space cos they will siege us in that last period,If we as a crowd turn against them on the park I fear defeat. The players and us the crowd need to be united for this right through to the final whistle. "Come on you irons"
