It would have been better if an Alpha Tauri broke down, since there wasn't any chance that Leclerc could've caught Verstappen without a SC

^^ after the **** Silverstone have pulled this week and Vegas introduction on the calendar F1 is on the verge of eating itself. Too many **** street tracks, in dodgy countries. I sit and watch as F1 is (not so) slowly being taken away from me. PPV races is being discussed as well (compared it to boxing for value- apparently Sky etc. undervalue the product)

To be honest they're welcome to them. I haven't watched a single race this season, just occasionakky skimmed the BBC's text coverage. I used to be an avid F1 fan, now it barely warrants even an Alan Partridge shrug.

It's bad enough having all those **** desert tracks. Or too many ****ing street circuits. Now though we're letting the yanks have THREE grands prix? Are we going to go the whole hog soon and have oval tracks with different set ups for the cars a la Indycar?

Feeding (milking) the Netflix generation while alienating the ‘legacy ‘ fans. Funny how Netflix subscriber numbers are dropping off a cliff.

BBC do the same by replacing old favourites with more modern versions. They also see viewer numbers decline, while the youngsters consume short form and Tik Tok like there’s no tomorrow.

So long as the street circuits produce decent racing and not Monaco levels of tedium then I dont mind.

To be honest, in the cold light of day I am largely ambivalent about where most of the races actually are - I am unlikely to attend any of them anyway, but there are a few crown jewels that need to be preserved, I would say those are Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Suzuka, Interlagos, and maybe Melbourne and Montreal at a push, that have come to represent the history and the soul of the sport.

I think Formula 1 needs to identify those crown jewel events and assure their status and future, then they can follow the money for the rest of the calendar as far as I am concerned. Start to sacrifice those in favour of a North American money tour and I'm out I'm afraid.

Where I have personally learnt to draw the line, since Miami, is to not tune in until lights out. I thought the razzmatazz and hype, and the blowing of smoke into youtube 'celebrities' proverbial chuffers to be absolutely unbearable. The fake marina is a perfect example of the authenticity of that event. The circuit and the racing wasn't much better either, but I can tolerate the odd damp squib in the same way a 0-0 in football can sometimes be enjoyed.
