My thoughts exactlysendô wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 9:55 am
There's been numerous times in the past when I have got bored with F1 when one team or driver has dominated - the Schumacher/Ferrari years, the Vettel/RB years, and during the Hamilton/Mercedes years, but I think it is worse now because of how unlikeable Verstappen is.

Re: Formula1
Story going around various outlets that Felipe Massa is going to sue The FIA as they never voided the race result back in 2008, after former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone stressed the Ferrari star should have won the crown after a race result should have been voided after Nelson Piquet Jnrs "accident" in Singapore - meaning Hamilton gets stripped of the title and it handed to Massa.
Of course, if this were to happen, it opens all kinds of doors for litigation, such as AB21 also being voided - which if that were to happen, Verstappen would still be champion anyway due to having more wins - but then I guess from a legal standpoint, it could mean Hamilton then taking legal action over Max's "win" in Belgium where a race never took place.
No doubt it's a non-runner, but it will be interesting to see how this pans out nonetheless.
I mean, where does it stop if it's successful? Does Hill then sue for 1996 after being deliberately wiped out by Schumacher in Adelaide with Schumacher getting no penalty?
The circus continues.

Bernie sure loves to stir the **** still doesn't he?
If Massa were to succeed it would open the door across so many sports it would be mayhem. Won't happen.

Re: Formula1
Bloody hell. He had a good second this season, always came across well in interviews. I like watching WRC highlights, gutted and shocked.

Re: Formula1
Absolutely tragic. The F1 guys get all the glory but the WRC boys really are the best drivers in the world.
Craig Breen was an excellent driver and seemed a really down to earth bloke as well. Awful news. RIP

Re: Formula1
The first one in Melbourne was '96.
Hill holds a record which is never likely to be broken - winning two consecutive races in Australia at two different circuits - Adelaide in '95 (Last race of the season) and Melbourne in '96, (first race of the season).
He is also the joint record holder of biggest winning margin in laps (2) for the '95 Australian GP. Jackie Stewart is the other one. 1969 Spanish GP.
Something to keep in mind if ever there's an F1 section on a quiz night

It's back this weekend.
New changes to the sprint format coming, too. f*** knows if my tired brain can make head nor tail of the new rules.

Re: Formula1
Unserved race penalties carry over as well. They want them to go for it but it’s not worth the risk for a point or two. Add to that crash damage and the budget cap and it’s likely we’ll get a damp squib.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 7:59 pm That's madness. They'll just drive round trying not to break things tomorrow.

Re: Formula1
He really doesn't enjoy anyone standing up to him does he? Unlikable twat.
"They are off the pace and to take that much risk it is not very rewarding because I will get him anyway in the next few laps," Verstappen said.
I mean the arrogance, I have the fastest car, so don't bother racing me.
Hope someone puts him in the wall tomorrow.
