Without going into too much detail - starts well, disappointing conclusion.

My memories of 'Bernie' are mostly of him throwing young kids down the stairs at Racquels. I believe he's a season ticket holder at Lincoln City these days.

Any other recommendations for UK shows from the last decade or two?

I enjoyed...

Line of Duty
Unforgotten
Peep Show
Inbetweeners
Coupling
Broadchurch
The IT Crowd
Shameless
Fresh Meat
White Gold
Doc Martin
Death in Paradise just for the woman in the first series.

I didn't love....
Peaky Blinders
Fleabag
Derek

I have similar memories gaffer. That, and him being a drug pusher. Plus making thousands of pounds off the back of it.

Apparently a real stand up guy nowadays though. :newthumb:

I don't say that, what I said was he is truthful in the TV series we make with him. You want to wind your neck in, you might not know it but we do know each other and I am bored with your b*llocks laden free hits.

I started watching Northmen or Northman last night, about Vikings, but it was a bit too dank so I switched to ROADHOUSE!

Found out that it was filmed in Los Angeles of all places & the scene where the old bloke is driving is car, weaving back & forth, is between Thousand Oaks & Malibu so I'll be popping up there in a couple of weeks to recreate that scene.

New Western series on Amazon called The English starring Emily Blunt & a Native American actor. Just saw the first episode last night & I'm hooked.

A little bit quirky but she's top notch in it.

Manifest season 4 on Netflix. They resurrected it when cancelled in US (season 1-3 on demand on sky)

It’s not great but kept me company during lockdown. Interesting to see what Netflix do with season 4.

got very good review in one newspaper I read, so I too gave it a shot.

not bad first episode.

wonder how it goes from there...from the initial premise, find it difficult to think they'd drag it out though to more than one season with the same story line. if they do, I'm gonna give the a swerve..

it's not that strong of a story line to go more than one season I think....

S5 of The Crown.

Its just started getting rather tasty with the Diana storyline and the book by Andrew Morton.

The Devil's Hour.... It's a strange mix. It feels like an ITV drama. But also a detective show. With supernatural thriller elements. I couldn't get into it at all and probably should give it a further watch but I can't be bothered despite the good rating.

Am watching the Murder of Meredith (Kercher) instead. I'm halfway through it. Nothing new really but it is good to have everything packaged into an hour and a half to easily digest.

1899 on Netflix. Kept me watching though I don't think 8 episodes (or whatever) was necessary to keep plugging the sub-plots while leaving the overall mystery hanging. Set up well for what I suppose is the next series.

Wild is the Wind (Netflix). South African film about two bent coppers and the mess going on around them. No spoilers, but the best (and most uneasy) thing about it is there are no goodies or baddies (apart from a female forensic doctor). Everyone is compromised and chaos ensues. A hard watch but there's something 'real life' about it. Excellent use of a Johnny Cash song (When the Man Comes Around) Recommend it.

I'm just going through the entire range of Breaking bad for the second time in the desperate hope I can "get into" Better Call Saul next.

Absolutely loving BB again but couldn't get into BCS

Lady Chatterley's lover

A bit grottier than the Joely Richardson version......she has a cameo in it BTW.

Your Christmas or Mine?

Silly but fun Crimbo rom-com.
