Re: Pablo Fornals
Think maybe should play him more central...we have the option of a 4-3-3,him in middle with Dec and Tomas...then
Micky,Jarrod....with one of, Ben most likely /Vlasic/Lanza/Yarmo.

Re: Pablo Fornals
His new baby must be sleeping through the night now as he’s been brilliant again lately.

Re: Pablo Fornals
He was happiest of anyone when we scored.
I thought he was going to dislocate his shoulder....

Re: Pablo Fornals
Agree he should play more centrally. That way we can, imo, get the best out of his creativity. He is the best in the team, bar none, for seeing an opening.thamesideiron wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 1:20 pm Think maybe should play him more central...we have the option of a 4-3-3,him in middle with Dec and Tomas...then

Before the red card, that is exactly what we were playing.thamesideiron wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 1:20 pm Think maybe should play him more central...we have the option of a 4-3-3,him in middle with Dec and Tomas...then

Re: Pablo Fornals
Yeah get that, when him and Ben play,Ben is the left side, and it does suit him more than Pablo..
But there's imo a subtle difference and a different manner of play when you go 4-3-3 as opposed to our 4-2-3-1,with Pablo
in the middle of the 3...he would play a lot deeper in a 4-3-3,a playmaker more than an attacking MFer..
When Lanza plays you notice he plays picks the ball up,usually in our own half,Pablo will tackle back and defend, but his playmaking is
often in opponents half.Lanzas whole game is played 10/15 yards further back.
TBH I'd prob give Lanza the nod over him in that role(at the moment),Bens better wide left....it's a tough call,I rate Fornals
a lot,great commitment and work rate,Love the guy,but everyone can't start.
But we wanna be a constant top 6 side we need guys on the bench that could and should be starting.

Fornals?
We are lucky we have him. Always 110% effort, creates, scores goals, defends and loves West Ham. What's not to like?

Re: Pablo Fornals
Superb tonight. The 2 assists were massive but the rest of his performance was fantastic as well.

Re: Pablo Fornals
Covered every blade of grass. Trademark response to first assist, punching the air.
Loves the battle of the match and never seems to lose his positional awareness. One or two things didn't come off yesterday, but I bet all of the Lyon players thought something like 'here we go again' when the ball came near him.
He and Manu seem to be able to get into precisely the correct mindset for the team's biggest games.

Re: Pablo Fornals
Thought he was our man of the match last night. Actually thought it was one of the most complete midfield performances I’ve seen anyone in c&b in the 38 years I’ve been attending.
Hustled, hurried, won the ball, kept possession, played some inch perfect through balls.
A brilliant brilliant footballer. He’s getting better and better for us too.

Re: Pablo Fornals
One thing that seems to be overlooked is that he has a pretty wicked corner kick amongst his bag of tricks that seems to create problems for the keeper and defenders. Just wondering whether it would be worth using him for a few free kicks to mix things up?

I think he's better than Cres at corners, just. Has he taken corners from the right side? Would like to see that and leave Bowen in the mixer looking for opportunities

Re: Pablo Fornals
Today's weird and wonderful statistic: Pablo Fornals has scored four counter attack goals this season. That is the highest of any player in the Premier League.

He's got at least one left in his locker for the next several games, too.bubbles1966 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 10:12 am Today's weird and wonderful statistic: Pablo Fornals has scored four counter attack goals this season. That is the highest of any player in the Premier League.
I'm thinking in Frankfurt...78th minute.

Re: Pablo Fornals
He’s a great player. I would just like to see him doing his job, and not his job and someone else’s.
