little bit of a tangent but isn't the hard seltzers similar ?

was listening to a radio show the other week, can't remember exactly, but they said something along the lines that one of the big boys (Heineken maybe ?) were way too late for some reason getting in on that market.

and a bit later then were bloody glad that they were.

but honest, Jam Roly Poly ANY beer ?

WTF ????

I bought a McBride Sisters Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc today.

I had a glass a couple of years ago & it was the best SB I've ever had that wasn't a Sancerre. So I'm hoping the 2020 vintage is just as good.

The McBride Sisters story is really interesting. Two mixed race sisters who didn't know each other existed. One grew up in Monterey California (a wine region 100 miles south of San Francisco) while the other grew up in New Zealand with distant relatives & a foster family.

They discovered each other when the Kiwi was late teens & older mid 20s. Kiwi went to college in US & they both discovered a shared love of wine. Now they have New Zealand & California wines & they're usually pretty good.

They've become the largest black & female owned winery in America. Their New Zealand wines are called McBride Sisters while their American ones are called Black Girl Magic.

That's how I feel about Brewdog.

In the beginning, I thought I liked it, but in reality it's worse than piss.

Is it like starter beer for kids? Like the alcopops boom of the 90s.

Bandits.
Did you try the local beer whilst you were there … Nicksicko - a decent holiday beer but not so keen on the name!!

Went out for a curry last night and thankfully they had Bangla beer, which I reckon is for better than Cobra/Kingfisher as an accompaniment … less gassy for me.

I'm just kicking back in the garden with a large Dalwhinnie Winter's gold single malt and a Cohiba Siglo III.

I'm watching Glastonbury on TV while drinking Apophenia, a Belgian-style trippel beer flavoured with orange peel and coriander, from Lost and Grounded.

I've convinced myself that it's good, even though it tastes like **** :winker:

The fact that it's 8.8% ABV may have clouded my judgment.

One of my favourite summer Adnams beers. They stopped brewing it a few years ago but to celebrate their 150th anniversary, they did a vote to bring back one of their back-catalogue beers for this season and Spindrift won:

My local branch of Home Bargains is stocking Bootlegger Pilsner named after that eccentric Wrexham fan who films himself at matches.

Real Ale Craft Beer gave this stuff a very good review, I'm expecting it will be in Tesco as the normal Wrexham Lager he was involved with was sold there too, looking forward to trying it at some point.

As for why I'm in this thread, I went to a local shop to buy a can of Diet Pepsi, thought I'd check the beer aisle just in case, and to my surprise found they had a load of Shepherd Neame Christmas Ale in stock on the shelves. https://www.shepherdneame.co.uk/beer/christmas-ale

Very much looking forward to tasting it later tonight.

Having a can of sainsburys own American style ipa

Quite nice and there’s a crossed hammers on the artwork that’s got a distinct claret and blue feel to it.

Really nice sipping rum from Venezuela. I recommend it on its own.
