Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (the green label one) is mindblowingly good stuff if you like super bitterness.
So I jumped at the chance to try their 'California IPA' when I saw it in the big Tesco near me also.
Lovely drop. Proper brewer.

I seem to recall that most of the beer sold in Prague ranges from good to very good.

These are excellent beers and have been a gateway into me trying loads of different craft beer.
Vocation, Life and Death is another one that is a good introduction to craft beer. A decent 6.5% ABV IPA.

Appears Clarkson's releasing a low/no alcohol beer soon. Looking forward to trying a few of them, have heard good things about his boozy stuff.

Re: Beer/Lager/Cider/Spirits/Wine.. Thread
Went to Camra's 41st Lincoln beer festival at the Drill Hall Lincoln yesterday. It was a decent, if much smaller event than their Pigs' Ear one in London. I went on the Saturday and it was sad to see about 50% of the beers were sold out. Makes mental note - next year go on a Friday.
Upon entry I was told my non Camra entrance fee was £5.00 Plus £2.00 for the glass. And a mandatory £10 purchase of beer tokens - total entrance fee therefore was £17.00 not the £5 as advertised. I felt slightly that a bait and switch had taken place.
I joint Camra as I was there (£30 for a year) and I got 4 half pint free beer tokens for the festival. Not too dhabby.
When i asked what beers were vegan, the bar manager had a list and I thought it was going to be a faff asking him every time I wanted a beer. I mentioned this to a very helpful lady on the Carmra desk and quick as a flash, she went and got a beer list, went behind the bar, got the main beer list and very kindly marked all the vegan beers on it for my useage! Top customer service!
I drank seven 1/2 pints of various beers, some nice, some average and some not nice at all. I was surprised to discover that the overall trend of brewers IMHO is to revisit the old style bitters, so much so that they have created a more harsh, acidic beer with a metalic aftertaste. I won't list them here (unless someone wants me too) but I thought I was safe with a weiss beer, but unfortunately that turned out to be the worst of the lot - bitter, caustic, overly sharp with a nasty aftertaste. It wasn't just me that tought so - a bloke I don't know bought the same weiss beer as me and I asked him what he thought - and he totally repeated my assessment.
An added bonus was an outside seating areas, which meant you could drink your beer whilst sitting in the sun.
All in all a decent festival, well run with nice people. I'm definately going next years - but ths time on a Friday.

love to keep up on this thread even though about 105% of the beers are unavailable to me
even so, it's a great read.
and for GCRO I can't figure how to post on the YouTube channel but I hope that your health continues to improve even though it means not so many reviews these days !!!!!

Asda were selling 4 330ml cans of Cobra for £1.72 last week.
Yeah I know it's not the finest lager ever but for that price they went down well on Bank Holiday Monday.
Only got another 8 packs left

Red Leg spiced rum is very nice. But the nicest spirit I've had in the last few years is glenlivet single malt scotch aged in carribean rum casks.

Thursday - I had 4 pints of Amstel in the pub (I refused to pay £5.50 a pint for Beevertown's Neck Oil) and then I pint of Perry in doors. Perry C/O Lidil - £6.00+ for three litres in a box!
