Re: 2019 General Election
I'll take a wild stab in the dark and say its al 'Remainers' fault....or Gordon Browns....or the BBC's.
Definitely not the fact that the neo-liberal model in which Tories have placed their faith for well over a generation is broken beyond repair.

Re: 2019 General Election
Regurgitating the same austerity/NHS campaigns, narratives and strategies of 2010, 2015 and 2017 doesn't appear a particular smart move. It's been a three-time loser. Is giving it a 4th go wise?
Cancelling £350m a week to French farmers was much more successful messaging....particularly in working class, marginal areas.
It's no good complaining about a lack of resources if you're gonna piss £350m a week up the wall on the EU.

Re: 2019 General Election
Perhaps they should build some houses with the £350m a week....instead of pissing it up the wall on the EU
Britain does indeed deserve better.

Re: 2019 General Election
Although no party would dare mention it, the reality is that you could more or less solve the UK homelessness crisis by taking back possession of the number of social housing properties estimated as being fraudulently let and misused.

EU membership is a net positive financially.
But you keep banging that bus there.

Re: 2019 General Election
Someone should tweet Jolyon this little snippet
That suggests that the EU is a big cause of homelessness in London. The CHAIN database also records the number of people sleeping rough from EU countries where there has been a significant increase, with this group now accounting for 35% (1,073) of all rough sleepers.
The vast majority of this increase is made up of people from central and eastern Europe, with Romania and Poland having the highest numbers.

Re: 2019 General Election
Sounds like they don't have the means to support themselves? Really sad situation but the government could help by enforcing the rules and getting them back to their home countries.
Then funds could be spent on UK citizens in that position.
Britain. Deserves. Better.

Re: 2019 General Election
Only if Leave were also able to present something positive.
Nice to see that the only counter to years of social degradation under 2 failed and 1 failing Tory governments is "But the EU". Guess that's all right wing politics has these days though - whataboutery, hatred and fear.

Re: 2019 General Election
Not quite....it has £20bn a year being pissed up the wall....while people sleep rough, kids get stabbed day in/day out, granny might struggle to get the right amount of care etc.Danny's Dyer Acting wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 10:16 pm Only if Leave were also able to present something positive.

Let's spend it on something more useful than the EU.
Britain deserves better.

Re: 2019 General Election
A lie and two three attempts to play on fear that are completely unrelated to the EU. Seems I forgot they have lies as well. Quite the toolkit.
Anyway....anyone see that Tory MP yesterday saying that the amendment to franchise 16/17 year olds and EU citizens had to be voted down as they would probably break for Labour? Britain deserves better than that.

Re: 2019 General Election
But EU migration cannot be a net positive on housing. We've had a million EU people settle here in the last decade but we certainly ain't built a million houses or flats.Danny's Dyer Acting wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 10:01 pm EU membership is a net positive financially.
But you keep banging that bus there.
You think that might be contributing to your rise in homelessness?

Re: 2019 General Election
'MIGRANT CRISIS Diane Abbott says UK must make it easier for people to come here'.
'Diane Abbott said the Government needs to make it easier for migrants to come to the UK and to stop seeing them as a problem.
The Shadow Home Secretary told the BBC's Andrew Marr this morning that people with "legal" claim to live here should be helped to come after this week's tragic discovery in Essex'.
Another general election winning statement, by Labour's Diane Abbott.
You go, girl.
(You're not being paid to say this sort of thing by the Tories, are you?)

When they do, some of them come straight back here........Danny's Dyer Acting wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 10:08 pm Sounds like they don't have the means to support themselves? Really sad situation but the government could help by enforcing the rules and getting them back to their home countries.
