Not been involved with them for years, but always a great service.

Re: Guitar Corner
I am indeed! One of my good mates works there, and all my previous bands/projects have rehearsed there, with some using the recording facilities. It’s had a lovely makeover during lockdown.

Re: Guitar Corner
How did you get on with the HB p-bass GCRO?
I’m getting drawn to the low end but don’t want to splash out too much, the reviews seem to be favourable but a lot swap out the pup.
Edit- I ordered one last night

Re: Guitar Corner
While I applaud the DIY efforts of people who can make their own kit, sometimes I can't help but feel that for some people their imagination exceeds their talent. Take for example, this "pedalboard", that this guy has been trying to shift on ebay for the last several weeks, at the princely sum of £18

Hard to resist such a bargain, but resist I feel I must

Re: Guitar Corner
I've just received an offer to buy that board for "only" £16.50. I have regretfully also turned down the offer.

I'm 52 years on this planet and this is the first time I've ever had the thought 'I wish I'd tried harder at school'.

Re: Guitar Corner
The singer of my old band "aquired" Dee Dee Ramone's bass guitar and brought it round to mine to asses. It was a '78 Precision that had seen better days. It played like ****, and needed several parts replaced (but obviously that wasn't what it was about, it was about the provenance). Anyway, he went on some auction programme on TV and got offered stupid money for it and declined all the offers. He ended up auctioning it at Sotheby's and got 14 large for it.Monkeybubbles wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 9:58 am OHMYFUCKINGGODITSJOHNNYRAMONESGUITAR!

EVH LBX - I was thinking of getting version 1 but from all accounts there's a LOT of 'hiss' on the channels (I know it's a high gain amp etc)- Anyone own the LBX II and have they cleaned it up at all?

Re: Guitar Corner
I can't wait till the kids move out and I can have a guitar room!
I have sold so many guitars and regretted quite a few of them sold ones that I think I'll only add to my collection from now on. I gig with all of these (not at the same time!).
Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Studio (Gold) A beast!
Fender Tele Baja (Butterscotch)
Fender American Professional HSS Strat (Black)
PRS 35th Anniversary Custom (Black Gold Burst)
Gretsch G2215 P90 Streamliner (Mint Metallic) What a guitar for the money!
Fender Gemini II Acoustic
Gibson J-45 Studio Walnut
Loads of effect pedals ranging from Boss, MXR to TC Electronic
Fender Mustang GT200 2X12" amplifier
Laney CUB Series Super12 15w 1x2 combo (Loud!)
And probably the best bit of Guitaring kit ever, Boss Waza Air Katana headphones. If you haven't got these I thoroughly recommend you do. Great for practicing.

Re: Guitar Corner
Depends what your tolerance is to hiss. As you say, they're hi-gain amps which are always going to have hiss issues - nothing that a noise gate won't sort out. The Peavey JSX has a built in noise gate to alleviate this so might be worth considering. Our guitarist has an EVH III 50w head and it sounds epic. Personally I prefer the Peavey 5150 which is what these amps are based on but they're super loud (120w) and I'd wager you'd never get it past 4 on the master volume and 6 on the gain knob.Flares & Slippers wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:14 pm EVH LBX - I was thinking of getting version 1 but from all accounts there's a LOT of 'hiss' on the channels (I know it's a high gain amp etc)- Anyone own the LBX II and have they cleaned it up at all?

Re: Guitar Corner
Impressive set up GCRO! Now that our eldest has moved out, I am making that into a music room by stealth. Have hung up a couple of guitars and put a couple of amps in there so far….

I'm loving it mate. Done a few playing videos on my youtube channel with it and for the money you're going to love it.Arnold Layne wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 9:55 am How did you get on with the HB p-bass GCRO?
