Re: Next Labour Leader
He's had a good week - and yes, I know it's all relative and too little to be clear evidence of a change in gear. However his 'leading the Tories through the sewers' line and calling out Johnson for what he clearly is - corrupt - showed much welcome fire in Starmer's belly.

Not exactly setting the bar high.
Compare it to how Angela Rayner ripped Johsnon a new one last week. And every time she steps in for him at the PMQs panto.

Re: Next Labour Leader
Rayner is dreadful otherwise IMO. She might be decent at PMQs but bar having a nice back story I have no idea how she made it to where she is.ironsonthebrain wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 2:41 pm Not exactly setting the bar high.

Starmer is drab but I don’t doubt his intelligence.

Re: Next Labour Leader
I think that says more about the nonsense panto that is PMQs - two leaders grandstanding in front of a baying audience trying to score cheap points.ironsonthebrain wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 2:41 pm Not exactly setting the bar high.

Re: Next Labour Leader
He's apologised now. Even though he was appointed to the shadow cabinet by Corbyn he doesn't come across as rabid shitwit, he seems to be one of the more rational labourists......

Re: Next Labour Leader
Yeah Ashworth has always seemed a bit more of a level headed, sorta centrist type.

Re: Next Labour Leader
I pray that Starmer, Davey and Lucas have each got a copy of this report and are hearing clearly the message it's bringing. There is no way to rid ourselves of this corrupt, incompetent government of clowns without those three working together, and the preparations should start now.
Co-operate in only 154 English seats and you win
Quick look at Germany's new SDP(Germany's Labour)/Green/Liberal alliance government show what's possible with cooperation. Since snappy slogans are all the political rage these days, "Just Get Rid of Them" will work.

Re: Next Labour Leader
Shadow Cabinet reshuffle today, apparently deputy leader Angela Rayner had no idea.

Clearly Starmer out for revenge after Angela Rayner made him look small by facing him down over her job being chopped to bits earlier this year.sendô wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 12:39 pm Shadow Cabinet reshuffle today, apparently deputy leader Angela Rayner had no idea.

Whatever you reckon of Starmer's motives with this reshuffle, getting rid of one of the few remaining Labour Red Wall ( CatSmith ) MPs strikes me as being a major own goal.
And just at the time where the polls were going against the Tories.

He didn't get rid of her. She quit because she's still a fully paid up member of the cult of St. Jeremy.ironsonthebrain wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 1:17 pm Clearly Starmer out for revenge after Angela Rayner made him look small by facing him down over her job being chopped to bits earlier this year.

Has he ever done a physical job in his life? The old communist workers cap must be a joke.

Yeah, I'd be outsourcing that one to the private sector, for sure.Monkeybubbles wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 8:16 am Diane Abbot? He probably had to get a subcontractor in to help, though.

Re: Next Labour Leader
I'd like to know what Kier thinks he is doing propping up the current Tory govt by voting with them.
