Re: Next Labour Leader
He looks like he was reasonably respectful during the Q&A so I will admit that. The point remains for the rest of the mob. It seems to be ok to shout ‘Tory Scum’ at people because you disagree with their political viewpoint. These are supposed to be educated young people. What’s the opposite equivalent chant? ‘Socialist Hypocrites’ or ‘Labour Spongers’ neither are something I would shout at a Labour MP.

What happened to the notion of universities being places of learning, where many and all viewpoints are welcome to foster debate? Where students listen to learn?

Re: Next Labour Leader
Starmer and rayner recieve police questionnaires
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and his deputy Angela Rayner have received police questionnaires as part of an inquiry into alleged Covid rule-breaking.
They both attended a gathering in Durham on 30 April last year, at which people drank beer and ate curry.
Durham Constabulary initially decided against an investigation, but opted last month to go ahead with one.
Sir Keir and Ms Rayner deny breaking any Covid rules.
The Labour leader was caught on camera as he drank a bottle of beer while in the constituency office of City of Durham MP Mary Foy.

Re: Next Labour Leader
Well they have the perfect template of how to fill them out (or not) based on the other side of the house.
I doubt they will get FPNs.

Re: Next Labour Leader
So really this has nothing to do with the Labour party? (The one that exists, not the one Paul Dacre wants to exist).Macca1973 wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 5:50 pm He looks like he was reasonably respectful during the Q&A so I will admit that. What happens if they refuse to fill in the questionnaire?Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 7:10 pm Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and his deputy Angela Rayner have received police questionnaires as part of an inquiry into alleged Covid rule-breaking.
Surely him be a solicitor he'd know that he's under no obligation to fill that in?

Will be interesting to see if this RMT story runs and runs. Starmer comes out against the strikes and some fairly prominent MPs say they support it. The Times then able to link it to payments made. The amounts are relatively small, but looks very similar to the Government

I know she's no longer Labour, Kier Starmer dumped Corbyn's Trot Bot when it went rogue, however the turd simply will not flush:

Re: Next Labour Leader
You're slipping del. There were 5 or 6 Labour councillors there, there you could have actually had a dig without having to drag in someone who lost the whip.
Good stuff from the folks down in Peckham. The Home Office shouldn't be trusted in any of these cases until they prove they get things right more often.

It was her tweet, a tweet made by a shameless criminal celebrating criminal behaviour.
I work very close to Peckham, that crowd doesn't look much like the local demographic so it's a bit of stretch to say they was all neighbours.
Mob rule is fine when it's a cause you support, what happens when they take to the streets to protect a far right nutter or the local drug dealer?
How will they prove to be right or wrong if Tarquin and Jessica turn up and prevent Border Force from doing their job.
You can't have an immigration free for all and a welfare system, controls need to be in place.
If people are advocating an immigration free for all then any views they hold on NHS funding, housing shortages and a host of other issues are basically redundant.
As a rule of thumb, anything Worf's ugly sister thinks is a good, isn't.

Re: Next Labour Leader
What, like the time another immigrant was being deported and a plane load of people kicked off about it and his deportation was halted - and it turned out that he was being deported because he was a serial nonce? That's the thing innit - unless you know the specifics of absolutely every single case of every single individual that's being deported, it's nothing but ignorant mob rule.

I'm not going to go back and forth on this for ages. It's the same conversation we all had when the people in Scotland did the same thing last year. In short...delbert wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 5:35 pm Only 5 or 6?

It's not black and white. I'm perfectly comfortable with this group of people stopping the immigration services yesterday while also thinking the muslims protesting at that cinema are a bunch of dickheads that should have had a lung full of tear gas. I'll always support action like yesterday until the Home Office show they can regularly make the right decisions in these cases without needing to be corrected by the courts.
Nobody that matters is "advocating an immigration free for all". That's just a nonsense line peddled by media and politicians that want harsher system than we have now.

Absolutely disgusted at those scenes in Peckham. Mob rule is never going to end well.

If he's guilty here he has to go. Someone like him doesn't get to be excused for being a bit of a div.

No, but then you are attempting to demonstrate that your party is upholding some sort of standards in politics.WestcliffHammer wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:51 pm Same as Boris with all hea back handers did he go? Nope
I agree with Prob - it feels unlikely that he's taking the piss, I mean, isn't going to watch Arsenal a punishment?

Re: Next Labour Leader
So when a Labour does it, it's a mistake or someone else's fault, when a Tory does it, it's the Tories fault?
Nothing like balance, is there...
