Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
TBH I didn't want Moyes back, but when arrived switched to total support as you should do..
Always thought this guy could get us Knocking around that 6/7/8th position for a couple season, maybe some Euro footie to attract
some real quailty players...But
Thought if we really want the "Big Time" it would be thanks Dave, done wonders for us but we need someone Else now for next step.
Thats kinda happened even better than I thought...but at Moment I'm in a kind of Limbo Land as to what should happen next..
Funny, if we had solidified this season, with another 5/6/7 finish...I would have been thinking right time for a change for next step,
but because of situation we are in feel he has to stay...I keep thinking of the **** luck with injuries, players settling in etc, lets give him a
break, then the WC comes along to confuse things even more..
So in others words...haven't a F.in Clue at Moment....
I'll go 60/40 Stay..I do quite like the guy.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
If there’s 2 common themes to the managers that have been hired under Sullivan, it’s ‘freebie’ and ‘experienced’.
Sullivan has yet to pay any compensation for any manager he has appointed while owning West Ham United. Martinez certainly ticks that box.
However, every manager Sullivan has appointed here has been at best around their mid 50s. Grant, 55. Big Sam, 56. Moyes (the first time), 54, Pellegrini, 64. Moyes (the second time), 56. That’s how old all our managers up until our current one was when they were appointed. The only exception was Bilic (46), who was only appointed because Sully’s preferred choice (Benitez, 55) said: “Hasta la vista, baby” and buggered off to Madrid.
Any fan’s who have hopes of Sully hiring a younger manager, an inexperienced manager, or a manager we’ll have to pay compensation for will be very disappointed. It’ll be another completely predictable 55+ freebie.
I bet Sully goes back in for Benitez. I can already see the ‘Champions League winner’ razzle dazzle in the announcement video now. Mancini is another should he leave the Italy job. He’ll go for Benitez in the hope he can do the job that he did prior to the Everton gig, in the same way he looked at Moyes when he was appointed.

Premier League experience,
Available,
Sully will think he's selling a FA Cup winner and Belgium manager,
He'll love it.
If Moyes goes he'll be favourite. Maybe we'll finally sign Batshuayi!

Can't see Martinez.
If Moyes went would be because we are in deep trouble.
No one is brining in Bobby for a relegation scrap.

He also likes to appoint managers that have a completely contrasting style to the previous one... so that's another tick.funky chicken wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:48 pm If there’s 2 common themes to the managers that have been hired under Sullivan, it’s ‘freebie’ and ‘experienced’.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
It's dawned on me that we have Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta in our team and we are languishing in 16th place.
David Moyes has blood on his hands.
Play PaqMan as an 8 and just end this awful Soucek as DM experiment, it hasn't worked for the past year and won't work going forward.
Moyes said in the summer a manager lives and dies by his recruitment and Paqueta's performances in the world cup are making Moyes look like a mug.

Paqueta's own performances in the Premier League have also made him look like a "mug". Not a one way street this.

The player himself has said he has struggled with the pace of the league, the physicality, and that he needs to adjust.Danny's Dyer Acting wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:55 am Paqueta's own performances in the Premier League have also made him look like a "mug". Not a one way street this.
Whilst Moyes could be utilising him better, the player himself has much to answer for, which he has done.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Back in the days when we were really good, winning the FA cup, winning the Cup Winners Cup, winning the World Cup....we finished the 66/67 season down in 16th, just three points (four today) above the team third from last.jabbaglob123 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:53 am It's dawned on me that we have Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta in our team and we are languishing in 16th place.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I believe you misunderstood my point.
Even when we win a cup and have fantastic players, we can have a really bad season in the league
(because the league is a marathon, not a sprint)

Watching the world cup makes me realise how lucky we are to have signed him and how depressing it is that we have a manager completely incapable of utilising him.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
He has blood on his hands by trying to shoe horn Soucek into the team at DM position for the first 15 games of the season. Which has been ineffective and has also meant PaqMan playing in the wrong position.
