Of course a lot of things have been wrong this season and some of them are done to the manager and his staff.

Seriously, what are you talking about?

He's performing well in a massively under performing team, he's very over rated by lots of people, especially those who peddle the nonsense that he's been 'mismanaged' and under another manager would be lighting up the League.

I really like Benrahma, he's been very useful to us with goals and assists throughout his time here. But there's a reason we had a free run at him from Brentford and he doesn't regularly start for a fairly subpar Algerian team.

He's a good player with obvious flaws, if he didn't have them he wouldn't play for us.
Spot on... both you and MB.

I'm very clear on what I say. It would help if you didn't keep putting words in to my mouth or read into something that wasn't meant by it but I'm used to it.

Interesting way of categorising our players. I guess I would only see the following as 'top half of the PL' players:

Rice
Paqueta
Aguerd
Fabianski
Aureola
Kehrer
Zouma
Ogbonna
Scamacca

No Bowen? Seems much more effective than Scamacca.

My view is that Scamacca has a lot more potential than Bowen.

Colours never run wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 3:35 pm So you agree he's been 1 of our best players this season? That wasn't clear.
Colours never run wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 3:35 pm As for Benrahma, you didn't answer so presume you agree he has been 1 of our best players this season, so where you get the over rated bit from, f*** knows.

In all competitions, Scamacca has averaged 0.4 goals every 90 minutes - which is the best ratio in the squad (Antonio's is better if you include assists too).

Bowen has averaged a goal or assist once every five games.

No, I'm just talking as a player. If we were just going on this season you would take out most of that list!

Not sure about that, at least for the Premier League. Maybe he will get better but I think his lack of pace is a big issue.

It is completely subjective of course, but yes I don’t think we'd have many who would regularly start at top half teams. We are not exactly fighting off bids from the top teams for our players.

Puts a bit of perspective on what Moyes achieved ov3r the last couple of seasons and perhaps why the wheels came off so easily.

Players reverting to their normal performance levels.

Yup. I would say it’s probably just Rice and Aguerd, with Bowen and Zouma at a push.

Zouma is top class but is let down by his passing while Bowen had that spell that attracted Liverpool.

Agreed.
Bowen has been poor this season.
It's easy to forget how home life can affect one's life.
Having a misses growing twins won't help his form in the short term. His head will be wrecked.
Once they are born, lack of sleep will bugger up next season too.
I could be wrong, but we definitely need a serious RW backup in the summer, Antonio can cover RW when Scamacca is fit again in the interim.

Twaddle. Started 30+ games last season for a team that came 7th and reached a European semi final.

He has clear flaws that will stop him from ever reaching the very top but there's no reason to play down his quality.

Bowen has plenty of cash to afford a nanny! A nice idea, but I can’t see how it makes sense for him to be taking turns when they wake up at night.
