Thanks chaps.

First time I've had it, thought I'd gotten off lightly after testing positive on Thursday, but it's hit me like a ton of bricks today, feel ****ing terrible.

Mrs is rough too, thankfully our 4 month old is ok so far, I hope it stays that way, don't want him getting poorly.

All the best SH. My third time after visiting Seville last month was very different to the first two. More pronounced fever, sinus headache and then had the cough for a month.

A couple of guys at work have had chest infections after the latest bout. One had a couple nights in hospital, he thought he was done for at one point.

Loads have it work now...a few pretty rough.

We have a big meeting with about 40 of us in a room on Wednesday at work. A few are already thinking is this a good idea?

4 people I know went to Glastonbury together and all of them tested positive for covid by Wednesday.
One of them works with me, but has a different office. Been taking her groceries and stuff since she went off.

Started wearing a mask again out shopping today. Didn't see anyone else wearing one.

We had 21 new apprentices start on Monday, by Friday 4 were off, all with COVID (these are 18-20 year olds). I’ve spent most of the week in a small room with them…

Am I missing something here :eh:

Covid Is part of life now and, because of the vaccines as well as variants getting milder, we can just get on with it.

Why the nervousness?

Because it is still an unpleasant illness that can have serious long-term consequences. The UK had 400 COVID deaths last week.

Just because it is part of life that does not make it fine and mean everyone recovers in a week.

Very grown up S-H. So I take it you agree that people should be wary of going into work meetings, or travelling? That's not an hysterical overreaction?

You know there's a Test Match, Wimbledon, festivals, and countless other mass situations going on where people are getting on with their lives without fear? And that 99% of the country is getting on with their lives? But I'm a bellend for suggesting that people are some are becoming hysterical again because cases are on the rise?

Fair enough. Stay safe. Hope the bed bugs don't bite.

I went into the work for a meeting week before last. First time I've been into work since lockdown. The day after the meeting I get an email informing us that someone in the meeting has tested positive. A couple of days after the meeting I started feeling nauseous, then had a horrid metallic taste in my mouth for a couple of days. That then progressed into getting the old ashtray phantom smell which I've had ever since. That's all I can smell all day every day. I've tested myself 3 times since that meeting but all were negative. Only two times before in my life have I had these weird symptoms, and both times were when I had COVID. So at the moment I'm choosing to believe my symptoms over the test results. I don't have any other symptoms and don't feel ill - but that's always been the case with me. Even when I caught delta for the first time back in 2020 before the vaccines, the worst it got was a bad headache.
