I saw that one this morning. Was in disbelief reading it, how lucky that woman is to be alive.
The gun had five rounds in it but jammed. The video cuts short but it looked almost like the bloke dropped the gun as he pulled the trigger?

Re: In other news
A weird case here in San Diego County.
Back in November 2020 a 68 year old woman hiking in a park (not remote by any means, 5 minutes from the beach & next to major roads & shopping centres) gets stabbed to death in broad daylight.
Three weeks later police arrest a 17 year old kid, who'd recently moved to the area from Oregon but before that he'd grown up in Hawaii.
His DNA was on her clothes & he'd left his flip flops near the body. Plus he was caught on CCTV being dropped off by his granny then running from the scene of the crime.
Police here wanted to try him as an adult so they could lock him up for 738 years plus life (or whatever they do here).
He admitted to the murder & eventually gets sentenced as a juvenile for seven years in a youth facility. That's NOTHING in America. People get more than that for minor crimes.
His family & many of his friends say "he's the sweetest kid", "lovely boy", "wouldn't hurt a fly" etc etc.
However he'd been suspended from school in Oregon for fighting, some girls in Hawaii said he was aggressive towards them. His dad had nearly beaten someone to death (I know that doesn't mean he's bad) & he was being home school in Carlsbad (northern San Diego) til they could sort out his situation.
Personally I see this as future serial killer stuff. Seems nice but randomly stabs an old lady in daylight. In the 3 weeks between the murder & his arrest he carried on going to that park most days to work out. And now the records have been sealed & we don't know why he was tried as a kid.
p.s. his uncle is an LA cop who vouched for him.

FIRST pictures have emerged of tragic twins and their older sister after all three of them were stabbed to death overnight in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland's capital.
The youngsters, eight year old twins Chelsea and Christy Cawley and their older sister Lisa Cash, 18, were stabbed to death by a man, 25, at their family home in Jobstown, Tallaght in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, September 4. A Garda spokesman said this evening: "Gardaí in Tallaght continue to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Lisa Cash, Christy and Chelsea Cawley at a residence in Rossfield Estate, Tallaght, on Sunday. Their mother, a woman in her 40s, has been released from hospital and is currently being supported by her family. The Family Liaison Officer continues to keep her updated as to the course of this investigation."
The statement, as reported by our sister title the Irish Mirror, added: "Their brother, 14, remains in Tallaght University Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
"The scene remains preserved for a forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
"Post mortems will take place on the bodies of the deceased this afternoon and tomorrow by State Pathologist Dr Sally Anne Collis.
"The male in his early 20s arrested at the scene continues to be detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Tallaght Garda Station."

Re: In other news
All over the news on this side of the Atlantic this weekend as it plays into many American fears, stereotypes, nightmares, demographics and why we all need to carry guns AT ALL TIMES!
A lady in Memphis, Eliza Fletcher, goes out for her usual jog at 4am. She's a triathlon participant & has even qualified for the Boston Marathon (you have to finish another marathon in under 3 hours). Mother of 2 & a kindergarden teacher.
Suddenly an SUV pulls up & a man attacks her, dragging her into the car during a struggle. The car sits there for 4 minutes then drives off.
The bloke ain't hard to find. He leaves a pair of flip flops with his DNA at the scene & it's his brothers car. The man, Cleotha Abston, 38, had been released from prison after 20 years in November 2020 after he'd kidnapped a lawyer when he was 16. Prior to that he'd been arrested between the ages of 12 & 16 for rape, assault & a bunch of other crimes.
Her body was found near his brothers house last night. He's now charged with murder.
The woman is part of a family worth over $3,000,000,000.00. They run an online hardware store or something. Anyone could have kidnapped her for ransom but it was some random violent opportunist psycho that happened to run into her that morning.

Re: In other news
Meat off the advertsiing menu
A Dutch city will become the first in the world to ban meat adverts from public spaces in an effort to reduce consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Haarlem, which lies to the west of Amsterdam and has a population of about 160,000, will enact the prohibition from 2024 after meat was added to a list of products deemed to contribute to the climate crisis.
Adverts will not be allowed on Haarlem’s buses, shelters and screens in public spaces, prompting complaints from the meat sector that the municipality is “going too far in telling people what’s best for them”.
Recent studies suggest global food production is responsible for one-third of all planet-heating emissions, with the use of animals for meat accounting for twice the pollution of producing plant-based foods.
Forests that absorb carbon dioxide are felled for the grazing of animals while fertilisers used for growing their feed are rich in nitrogen, which can contribute to air and water pollution, climate change and ozone depletion. Livestock also produces large quantities of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.
Ziggy Klazes, a councillor from the GroenLinks party, who drafted the motion banning meat advertising, said she had not known the city would be the world’s first to enforce such a policy when she proposed it.

I know it's case of being innocent until proven guilty, but this beggar's belief.
https://abc13.com/suspects-charged-in-d ... /12216777/
ATASCOCITA, Texas (KTRK) -- Two suspects were arrested in connection to the death of an off-duty Harris County Precinct 3 constable's deputy after he was shot while driving home, the sheriff's office said
Ahsim Taylor Jr. and Jayland Womack, both 20, are charged with Deputy Omar Ursin's murder.
Deputy Ursin was killed when he was driving home from picking up dinner for his family on Sunday, Aug. 28. The shooting happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the 11900 block of Madera Run in the Atascocita area.
According to authorities, a dark-colored sedan with tinted windows pulled up next to Ursin and fired multiple shots from the driver's side. Ursin was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Records show that both suspects were out on bond stemming from separate murder cases when the shooting occurred.
this was the last place that I lived before I came back here full time. it's a pretty upscale neighbourhood about 40 miles north of 'ouston.
bloke picked up dinner and was taking it home to his family early evening. more might come out but he was out of uniform, in his own private car. did they know who he was ?
like a murder for hire ?
considering the place, it isn't one of those places where "drive bys" occur.
