Update on the 16 year old kid shot on the doorstep case. They arrested the bloke. Well, they have a warrant out for two felonies but they'd already let him go to his holiday house in Arizona to escape the attention.

But he's being charged with assault & something else. Apparently told the kid, between shots, "You don't come around here".

Thinks he's Clint Eastwood.

A group of young friends are going to some other friends house in a rural part of New York State. They realise their mistake & start to leave but the owner of the house comes out & starts shooting at them, killing a 20 year old girl in the car.

For no ****ing reason at all. Just starts shooting.

In this case the bloke gets arrested & charged with murder

Came close to this happening with a couple of my employees. We had an event in Napa Valley. It was to end quite late so we rented an airbnb for the night for our people to rest. It's a long drive to the city after an exhausting production day. They pulled up to the cottage (in the middle of a vineyard, no other homes around) in our company truck and went to let themselves in. As they were trying to open the door a pickup truck came flying up the drive, and 2 men jumped out of the cab yelling at our guys to freeze. One had an AR-15 aimed at them. Fortunately my wife and I pulled in behind them and defused the situation. They wanted to shoot our employees because they were Latino, and they said so. "We thought they were going to rob our house, and besides, we don't allow ****ing Mexicans to rent our house." We all drove home, but my team almost ended up on the Mass Shooting thread.

If you own a gun & especially if you're are holding a gun, you're well on the way to using it, imo.

"People with guns"

So you flood the market with guns then keep selling more guns to protect yourself from the other people like yourself

Yes, that's right. The top three are all in the bible belt. Which also leads the way in murders & gun crimes & is lowest on education.

And another one.

In Texas four 18 year old cheerleaders car pooled together. When they got to the supermarket car park one of them got into what she thought was her car but there was a bloke sitting there. She apologised & got out but the bloke came out & started shooting, hitting her & another cheerleader, the 2nd one critically injured (but luckily not dead).

He got arrested. This is four kids shot in six days, just because of simple mistakes.

As an aside, if an 18 year old cheerleader accidentally got into my car I might shoot my wad, but that's about it.

Two grandsons & a nephew of the old bloke that shot the black kid speak out.

Grandson One says that he used to be close to him but grandad wet down the Fox news, American right wing rabbit hole in recent years. A 24 hour news cycle of fear & paranoia.

His older brother said his grandad was a decent man & he feels bad for the kid. But the old man genuinely believed he was in trouble. His wife is in hospital & he was alone & frightened.

Nephew say he's not racist, just a straightforward every day man.

Looks like grandson One is left wing/progressive while the other two lean right. We all see things through our own eyes, don't we.
