Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I wonder if we could get Angelino at some point, on loan at Leipzig from Man City.

What's that Kongolo like, Fulham signed from Huddersfield?
I don't remember seeing him play when Huddersfield were in the Premiership. It just seems unusual to see a centre back, with a couple of caps for a team like Holland, go for £4m (just two years after Hudders paid £18m for him).

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I wouldn't be surprised if Moyes is eyeing up 1-2 of the players we were linked with in the transfer window for the next one in Janaury when they will only have 6 months on their contract. Such as that Maksimovic at Napoli and Joshua King. Shame they are birth slightly too old, as they'll soon be both 29. Both are okay though if both Antonio and Balbuena don't sign new contracts. Which I don't think that'll be the case for Antonio, as I do think he'll stay. Really we need to find a centre half at a peak age, I.e. 25-28. As we already have 2-3 old ones in Ogbonna, Balbuena and even Dawson. And we have youngsters in: Diop, Alese, Johnson and even this Danish one Frederik Alves Iben if he's on his way in January. So I'd like to sign one at an age that's in the middle if possible. For leftbacks I believe Reading's Omar Richards, who plays for England u21s is out of contract next summer too.
One thing I am hoping the club is doing is scouting younger Goalkeepers to see if we can find an eventual successor for Fabianski. Whether it's someone to sit on the bench for the time-being like Adrian did with Jaaskelainen, or someone to even replace him altogether if Fabianski leaves for nothing next summer. I fully expect Fabianski to get a new contract though. As Sully loves deliberately giving out big contracts to players in defensive positions quickly so the manager then can't go out to sign more players. E.g. Ogbonna in the past, Cresswell last summer. I bet they even give him a 2-3 contract instead of a 1 year contract, with an option! They must even be chomping at the bits to give Balbuena a new contract too after recent performances!

I see C&H are linking us with Phil Jones for £20m in January. Please No.

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I could see us getting Borini in from the free market. Moyes knows him from the season he played at Sunderland, and he certainly has a similar enough profile to Josh King to be an option.

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I’d expect Man Utd to pay us more like £25m to take him, but not a bad opening offer if we can negotiate it up a bit.bonzosbeard wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 9:02 am I see C&H are linking us with Phil Jones for £20m in January. Please No.

And we then pay them £50k every time he doesn’t play, like our Chelsea deal.
It’s easy this player trading malarkey isn’t it.

You/I are looking at Phil Jones from our perspective.
I reckon at the right money Moyes would love Jones here, it's his sort of player, small building blocks.

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I think Phil Jones would be a good buy, could cover a few different positions and the kind of player Moyes can improve.
