What the heck is going on at our club? There is going to be some real competition for places. We will need cup runs and Europe to keep them all busy.

Mark Robson is apparently going to slowly take over the u23s. Replacing Halajko who is leaving us. Ex mentioned this on his latest podcast.

Strange we’re letting Halajko go with the u33s doing so well.

Didn't he suggest that he'd got a job with the FA?

No idea. It’s the first I’ve heard of it. But that would make more sense. As it would be a very strange decision from the club if it was us that decided to let Halajko go.

Apparently we have just been kicked out of the Papa John's trophy due to playing an ineligible player!

Just seen it as breaking news on Sky Sports news. Deducted 3 points meaning they fail to qualify in 3rd place.
Can we blame Brady?

I hadn't heard of Mubama until a week ago when he signed his first pro contract. Nice to have a promising young striker for a change!

Also, nice to finally have a few players involved in the England youth teams again - we have Mubama, Perkins, Baptiste and Alese. Chesters can't be far off. No idea how Ben Johnson isn't though. Baffling.

We also have Ashby and Okoflex involved with Scotland and Ireland, respectively.

See Perkins scored in a 3-2 defeat.

Bit out of nowhere this - https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/202 ... lead-coach
West Ham United are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Robson as the Academy of Football’s Senior PDP Coach/U23s Lead Coach.

The former Hammers midfielder joins from Championship side Peterborough United, where he had served as assistant manager since August 2020, and will replace Dmitri Halajko, who is departing to take up a youth and coaching development role at the Premier League.

Prior to his spell at the Posh, Robson spent over four years at the Football Association as a National Specialist Coach, working closely with the best young English players to progress through the national team pathway into Gareth Southgate’s senior squad.

A UEFA Pro Licence holder, Upton Park-born Robson will now work closely alongside manager David Moyes’ first-team set-up and assistant U23s coach and former Hammers team-mate Steve Potts in guiding West Ham’s young professionals towards attaining their own aspirations in the game.

A striker named Divin' Mubama is a prime example of nominative determinism.

Suspect Johnson maybe doesn't get in the youth teams due to RB being probably the single most well-stocked position in English football. You could probably name a handy enough XI just made up of right-sided defenders, particularly if Antonio revoked his change of national allegiance.

Impressive start for a 17 year old in the U23s, am I right in thinking he's a newly converted number 9 from a more withdrawn/midfield role?

I don’t want to temp fate, and I did, and do, go big on Conor Coventry and Mipo, but our youngsters of all ages are turning in some serious results, including against the money clubs.

I would love to see the next Rice or Johnson play a competitive game this season. We need one to break through every season.

Makes you proud, and nothing to do with who has the most money.

David Moyes in October 2020…

“I’d rather work with a small squad than a big squad. It’s always easy to bring somebody out of the Academy when there are spaces, and I’ve always wanted to have a Club where those young boys feel there’s a chance to breakthrough.”

With that in mind, any youngsters within a shout in these coming months?

What is the latest with Amadou Diallo?

Was hyped as our best young player a year or two back but has gone off the radar.
