Even though the word is misunderstand anyway.

Odd post.
I meant to write misunderstand /misinterpret. It was said in response to TI saying "... Lineker has basically called the Tory party Nazis ..." when he had said nothing of the sort. Being as hot on English as you are, I'm sure you'll understand that that interpretation is wrong. Disagree?

I have absolutely zero reason to think that TI deliberately misinterpreted what Lineker said - he's just wrong. However many journalists/ politicians / others clearly have done just that and all for the sake of stoking up a bit of culture wars.

You're right Dave we can all misinterpret someones meaning especially in a short post/tweet,where you don't/can't fully explain your
opinion/view in a few lines....However..

Lineker actually tweeted that The Tories new legislation was akin to 1930s Germany...Sorry mate that just does not get any clearer
in his meaning...no interpretation or misunderstanding in it..IMO.

Also this side of his "Quote" is not or hardly being reported on...it's just the "right to say something side"...is why I brought it up..
Yes The Right to an opinion whoever you are ,and in whatever job you do, couldn't agree more, but the right to use that freedom to
to belittle, abuse etc..that is wrong, and as I touched on possibly sometimes illegal.

It's Lineker himself who has brought about a Culture War Discussion/Argument,by saying what he said...
Say what we/Gov are doing is wrong, give your reasons,Socially,Politically by all means...but it's wrong to compare it to an Evil Regime,
that was resposible for untold deaths...

Obviously wasn't that clear given you're accusing him of something he didn't do.

TBH mate I don't understand anyones take on defending him for part of what he said, not all...he said...

This is an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people...(that we can all disagree or agree with)...he goes on to say
in a language that is not disimilar to that used by Germany in the 1930s..

That's where it changes from a fair statement up for debate to ...a massive massive exaggeration coming from someone that doesn't
actually get and understand the situation, which borders on Libel/Slander,from a legal perspective.

It can't get any clearer he is referring to Strategies used by the Nazi Germans in the 1930s.

'' This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s, and I’m out of order?”

Lineker described the policy as ' Cruel ' - you may agree or disagree on that .

He went on to say ' In language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 1930s ' -

Yvette Cooper said [ on Braverman ] -

'' No Home Secretary who was serious about public safety or national security would use highly inflammatory language on the day after a dangerous petrol bomb attack," she said.

Robert Jenrick had this to say on Braverman's use of language -

"I think in my role you have to choose your terminology wisely and we don't want to see incidents like the one that occurred in Dover happen again," he said on Tuesday. But he claimed his boss's words reflected the scale of the challenge.

The Tories have had nearly 13 years to come up with a policy regarding Migrants and despite reclaiming Sovereignty over our borders they seem no nearer to solving this ' problem ' -

Back in 2019 Denmark decided to introduce a temporary protection status for Syrian refugees which meant as soon as human rights conditions improved in Syria then all rights could be revoked .

Canada and the US have just agreed a policy to stop all asylum seekers at unofficial crossing-sources [ though details have yet to be ironed out ] -

The collective West helped create this Migrant dilemma yet seem unwilling to find a solution other than send them to Rwanda or back to where they came from -

Mate,Im a Tory and massively disapointed in their handling of this over the years...we needed a clear and defined "illegal immigration"
policy from the start...illegal being the operative word, nothing to do with Immigration,we have to seperate out the two...
The Boats are mainly llegal...like it or not, they are....does not mean to say there aren't people on them that are desperate and need
the UKs Help and support...
We Have to have an option of quickly removing those that are here for purely "Financial Reasons" so we can fully commit and use our resources
financial and other to help those that are fleeing in fear and repression, now more than ever,we have to many of our own struggling,
to be financing Albanian/Kosovan Drug dealers and the sort....argue all you want, but that is happening.

I Just don't feel imo anything that has been said by the Politicians involved relates to anything close to the Nazi Dictatorship the world
saw in the 30s..

Each country has it's own needs and wants, policies in how it handles immigration, they will all differ,as they should..

I think most of us agree on helping and wanting genuine immigration to be a success..."Most"...But all of us will agree on keeping potential
"Criminals" out...
Is why a don't particuarly get or understand Linekers somewhat Naive take on it,he isn't seeing the "Big Picture",he is the one
lumping all immigration seekers, fair and just ,and the P**s Takers together as one, like said we need to seperate the two, this
policy may help in that...
If a subtle deterent is needed,so be it.

Thamesmead -

I'm in full agreement that something has to be done as I can only see this getting worse with Climate Change on the horizon - it won't just be people from war-torn countries and opportunists coming over illegally .

There doesn't seem to be any unification for dealing with this , every country seems to have their own ' solution ' -

Lineker is basically the person I am going to stand next to if Vlad starts raining down nukes.

The thunder**** is the luckiest person I have ever seen.

If a nuke hit him, he'd likely get blasted into space and land on a planet where everyone is Page 3 model.

Bang on mate..
CC is a little bit of an Elephant in the room when it come to the potential need for immigration, needs to be discussed more when the subject
is headlining in the news...so people are aware that we will need, and in fact do need to now.. prioritise as to who needs help the most.
A 22 year old male east european chancer or a guy and his family who have lost everything in a Flood........

The CC that the industrial world is reponsible for(believe some of it is nature doing it's thing, but thats another discussion),has been caused
by the more advanced nations 1st World if you want, aslo will include Socialist states of Russia/China..and now India,in this as the main
"Culprits"...therefore we/they must take responsibility, and finance the aid that will be required....this does not necessarily mean
immigration ,but, resettlements to a better location, closer to home for them, maybe even poss their own countries, move settlements/
farm land etc, off the new flood plains to higher ground, establish new settlements,villages/even towns.
Not easy by any means, but logically must be the main answer.
99% of people that are hit by the various "Disasters" we have, don't wanna move to a new country...relocating as near as poss,is what
they would want.

But trying to get all the more properous countries all envolved in a worldwide "Fund" of aid,Particuarly the Likes of China, who might
help if there's something in it for them..and Russia..well Russias Russia,a law unto themselves...would be nigh on impossible,so would
be left to the "West" to put in a Properly funded aid scheme.

Would the British public be happy with our Government agreeing to put another 5 Bill a year or whatever extra into a worldwide fund of aid.

Their sympathetic, sycophantic coverage of a conservative politician who has had to resign due to being found guilty of bullying is actually quite shocking. Even at the point where they have been outright infiltrated by government donors etc, the almost “state controlled” coverage of a bloke who should really now be sacked as a politician is staggering.

But, but but, they're a bunch of Tory hating radical Lefties aren't they? So how does that work..

I think the point I'm trying to make e17 is a lot of what we see is interpretation based on our own views.

I considered leaving out the word “conservative” in that post, OFT - because in all honesty I’m neutral these days and don’t think it would be right for the national broadcaster to be giving ANY elected official the sort of soft edged platform they’ve given Raab.

I’d feel the same if it was Wes Streeting orJess Phillips. The fella has not been cleared of 2 alleged accusations of bullying.

Problem is, Richard Sharp, Robbie Gibb, Tim Davie, Fiona Bruce etc open this up to extra scrutiny now because it is so soft edged.

Fair to say both major political parties have made political appointments as head of the Beeb.

How can that be stopped with his replacement?
