But now I have tried to Google it again I am shown similar looking ones from Dunelm for £15, although they are sold out locally and I'd need to get to Beckton. However Amazon have some similar which are around £20.

The reviews all say they are amazing. Can anyone attest to that?
I've never heard of Orbis heaters.
What one is it in the Beckton store, iLL?
The only £15 one there I can find is a small, plug-in one.

That's the one Samba. 8p an hour costs allegedly from some reviews. Drawback is it seems to be noisy. I could buy one off amazon and if it is no good I could give it away I suppose.

My home office is a wooden cabin at the end of the garden so I have an oil filled radiator connected to a smart switch, turns on if temperature drops below 2 degrees and off when it rises above 10 at night to keep the chill off. Monday to Friday it turns on about an hour before I start work and automatically turns off at 16 degrees.

My wife normally has the house heating on most of the time and the thermostat far too high, according to me anyway. This year she is obsessed about heating bills and won't turn it on, to the extent that the house is colder than my office.

Bump.

The stakes are higher than ever this year in the annual put a ****ing jumper on/I’m cold and want the heating on to maintain tropical temperatures battle with your other half.

I’m tempted to try and invent the woolly jumper-straight jacket hybrid to try and keep her warm whilst being unable to touch the thermostat. Not only will it keep the heating bill down but I’ll probably get rich selling them on Amazon.

Temperature dropped significantly in the North this morning. Had to reach for a thicker jumper for my morning walk. Still nowhere near heating weather but the signs are there.

Definitely a chill in the air. I have the BBQ going but it's likely to be the last one of the year.

With utilities what they are, I'm not sure I dare use the heating.

I'm already preparing for the costs of unnecessary central heating by trying to convince the rest of the house about the wonders of microfleece base layers.

It has definitely been colder in the morning / at night this week near Glasgow but mid day has been warm. Today was quite mild. Definitely colder in the house and we are already already opening the windows less.

Mrs Bubbs' daughter has already put it on in her house.

She who must be obeyed is aware of this but is out of the country at the moment so the stereophonic, "but it's cold" is yet to start. Thermostat 18.5 degrees this morning when I finally got out of bed. The duvet has been deployed.

D-Day minus 9.

Thinking abt lighting the logbuner later free fuel all winter .
Get one a chainsaw and a contact for free wood.Theres the initial outlay then a toasty warm living room hall kitchen stairs and landing .
Bedroom just needs an electric blanket on for 30 mins or a blast with a fan heater and your sorted.

Just getting around to installing a rad in the bathroom. Erm....how do Screwfix manage to get the price of THIS so low? The valve is worth more than the rad. Too cheap?

Because it’s roughly the size of an A3 sheet, and incredibly low thermal output.
