However, yes, for a small rad, the price is excellent. Possible end of line stock they’re trying to shift?

Yeah even for a small rad it's very cheap. The margins on this must be tiny.

Anyway, off to pick it up now. If it spits hot water at me whilst taking a dump I'll let you all know.

I have however resorted to wearing a fleece top over my t-shirt for the night-time dog walks. During the day, it's still about warm enough for a t-shirt if you're moving.

In the house, we have my partners mum living with us and she's 81. She gets cold very easily however doesn't take any of my advice on wearing better clothing (such as microfleeces) to keep the heat in. I've also suggested an electric blanket/throw to wrap around her when she's watching TV at night - they're very cheap compared to running the central heating excessively or using other heaters. She doesn't want that either. These elderly folk can be incredibly stubborn.

Outstanding value Dr Venk.
Despite the low output it should be enough to warm your bathroom, depending on its size of course.
I wouldn't fit a TRV on it though, not in the bathroom anyway.
Edit.
I also see they've got a double panel with 6k + btu output for £28.
Bloody cheap that.

Sticking a drainage valve on it :newthumb:

And yeah, the double panel one is cracking value too. I bloody love Screwfix.

Over the years I've replaced every radiator in my house with Kudox and they do the job splendidly.
Apart from a new trendy vertical type radiator in my lounge which is meant to be trendy and also boasted that it was a quick heat radiator. It cost a fortune (more than all the other radiators put together) and is the slowest to warm up out of all of them.
I suppose it looks ok though.

I'd also like to say that now is the time to switch on your heating while it's still relatively mild just to give it a good run through and make sure everything is working as it should. It won't need to be on for long.
You really don't want to be waiting until the first real cold snap to discover the bearings have seized in your fan. Heating engineers tend to be very busy the moment it gets cold.

I've turned the boiler switch from hot water only to heating & hot water.

I almost did a test run yesterday but tonight could be the night :chin:

Rads on downstairs for us of an evening now. Hardwood floors down there, carpets up. I usually resist but even I felt it sitting there the other night. EDF licking their lips.

Had an email from Bulb yesterday, informing us of the new rates for gas and electric.

Not too bad to be honest, was expecting much worse.

I was in Germany at the weekend visiting Europa Park and the hotel owner was telling me that they weren't sure if they would be able to open over the winter as their energy company has informed them that their energy prices will be five times what they previously were :shocker: . Even Europa Park is considering closing some of its facilities, the indoor aqua park in particular.

Our boiler is working at the moment but needs some (very expensive) replacement parts and so we've asked for a few quotes for a new system. My wife is keen on this as at the moment I'm the only one who knows how the system works so I have full temperature control. The new system will be controllable by the phone, which in my wife's hands will get very expensive if her lack of restraint in the car heating system is anything to go by

I've been considering glueing the thermostat at 18C in my house.

Or better still taking the front off, setting the temperature and then removing the cog inside so that the dial just spins.

I think that's what they did with Liz Truss.

Put the heating on Sunday evening as it was chilly. Only 3 of the 5 radiators actually worked. Plumber out yesterday. New one needed for the living room (£200 Inc fitting) and the other one needed cleaning out.

The living room one will make a massive difference.
