Sun out all day, very nice. Still haven’t had the heating on apart from a one hour test run last week.

We ordered 3 cubic meters of kiln dried ash for the log burner around this time last year, it cost £190 delivered.
We didn't light the burner much last year as it was so mild over winter. Thought I'd check how much the same order would be now ... £399 :shock:

Double the price, I'm going back to gas, when the current lot has been burnt.

No sign of the heating on yet. Mrs Sendo has been out and bought herself a massive blanket to cover herself with whilst sat on the sofa. It's warm during the day so open doors/windows to let heat in and then close up around 4-5pm traps the heat in. I can see only the towel rail in the bathrooms going on to stop towels staying damp in October.

Had the wood burner on over the weekend. It was only allowed as I told the daughter that if her and the missus wanted it on then they had to chop some wood! I'd sawn loads of logs in the spring so daughter was chopping them and missus stacking them in the lean-to.

Does anyone have any knowledge or recommendations for a small heater to keep a baby’s room (small) warm overnight? You can get these mini “plug” heaters but not sure how well they work. Am I better off just leaving the central heating on constant for the whole house at a lower level 24/7 rather than a blast in the morning and evening with a separate overnight heater for the baby?

Teaching from home today, had to put the heating on, full of a cold and cannot feel my hands - was 16.5degrees now and nice 19. Couldn't leave it any longer.

from the articles ive read leaving it on 24/7 at a lower heat isnt economical

blast when you need it (which is basically what hive and such do now as it does save cash)

there are good small heaters for babies rooms around on amazon that do work

Its as if my gas meter is superglued stuck.

Still not put mine on - has been noticeably colder in the house a couple of times, especially when I leave the desk where I work (upstairs, under a skylight, gets morning sun) to the middle floor I notice there's a temperature drop.

Has actually been warmer outside recently, although wet/grey, which has probably helped as it's warmer inside now - just got a t-shirt on today.
