It really is difficult to predict this season, more so than usual. I mean the Jets winning in Green Bay? Just crazy!Bend it like Repka wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 7:40 am The NFL is amazing compared to our crappy Premier League.
At this rate we will have a Jets v Giants superbowl. There is no form book any more.

I wonder the odds on Green Bay losing to the two NY teams over the last two weeks..Cockneyboy311 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 2:05 pm It really is difficult to predict this season, more so than usual. I mean the Jets winning in Green Bay? Just crazy!

Re: NFL For Dummies
Man, can't cut it any closer than that from the Giants, but D came up with 2 big plays in the 4th qtr to win it. That stuff of Lawrence on 4th and 1 in the 4th qtr led to a Giants drive for a td. That gang tackle of Kirk on the 1 rd line at time was one of those plays that can level a team up. And I'll be damned if Barkley doesn't have a little Barry Sanders in him. He broke a lot of ankles today with that Sanders backstep and hip shake he's got. And Jones, just by looking at him you'd never think he would be a scrambling, nay, make that an outright running QB. But he's a legitimate offensive weapon on the run. O line looked much tighter, but D line needs to find a way to get some penetration. Lawrence had a lot of time today. NFC East seems to be back at the level it should be.

Nice win on the road from the Bears last night, Fields is so annoying shows so much promise some weeks and does some really good things.. then doesn't Patriots were really poor though.

Re: NFL For Dummies
No return to the SB for the Rams this year. Beaten by the bloody 9'ers AGAIN. With Jimmy G at QB as well. FFS.
Re: NFL For Dummies
I love the NFL and the way they seem to pick the in form teams/best game to put on the box each Sunday rather than the way we have to suffer our pre planned sky 6 all the time.
Just need my Jags to start closing out some of these games.

Fields continuing to blossom. Bears a fluffed punt from keeping up with the Dolphins.
Dolphins moving the ball with ease though, they have so many options.
The fall of Green Bay is rapid, those that know more is it expected?

Detroit player given freedom of the endzone. Outcome = predictable.
And then to rub salt in, they get the two point conversion.
I'd be looking at swapping Rodgers for Love for the third and fourth quarters.

Wonderful 61 yard run from Fields for a TD Bears get the two to take the deficit to three. I think the dolphins will pull away this half in the end but nice the see the Bears be competitive

Re: NFL For Dummies
Jaire Alexander with an interception for the Packers. He runs out of bounds and gives it some large with the celebration. Ffs...the team you play in has lost 4 in a row, and looking like making that 5.
On comes Rodgers and our offense...several throws later and they make an interception plus one of our players leaves on the cart.
Season over.
May as well get Love on the field and give him game time in preparation for next season.

Is that three out now injured? They showed two earlier on sky being carted off. You think Rogers will see out the season? Not as if he needs it.simon hammer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 7:57 pm

Re: NFL For Dummies
He just threw a beautiful pass for our touchdown. Trouble is, he used to throw loads of them. One or two per game is well below the accepted and expected standard.
I thought he might not see out the season, but the damage that will do to his standing with the fans has ruled that out for me. It's one thing to be dropped by your coach, but to walk away of your own accord midway through a particularly shitty season?
He'll be here till the bitter end.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Sone really iffy non-flags for the dolphins today. A non-Pi at the end was terrible. Defender had arms around Claypool’s waist, nothing.
Fields most QB rushing yards in game in NFL history today 178 yards (I think it was). He was immense today.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Fields is quality...and he'll only get better.
Yet again...the Jets grab another win!!!
Packers final play just highlights the disconnect between Rodgers and his receivers. Receiver runs a route wide, heading out towards the corner of the endzone. Rodgers expects him to continue his route so throws, on 4th and 10 with 42 seconds remaining, to the end zone where he expects the receiver to be...only for the receiver to inexplicably cut inside and head for the posts as Rodgers is throwing the ball.
Cue Rodgers, arms held out like Jesus on the cross, shaking his head in disbelief...while LaFleur just stands bemused.

Absolutely!!!
There will, or at least should, be plenty of harsh words and hard truths in the Packers locker room, on the trip back and on the training field.

McCarthy's Cowboys take the lead at Lambeau in the second quarter.
Dolphins with a fantastic win, and a ridiculous last minute in the Vikings @ Bills game saw it into overtime, with the Vikings eventually winning it.

RODGERS!!!
Outrageous throw to Watson, who finally makes a catch on the 15 and runs in for the TD!!!
Then does a standing backflip.
