20 play drive and only get 3. That motion call/nullified TD hurt. That’s the kind of sequence that flips momentum.

Huge difference in quality between this game and the early game.

That roughing the passer call against the Giants is a disgrace. This sport has lost its way. You can’t have a cleaner sack. I don’t get it.

Particularly gratifying that it was Hockensen that got stuffed a few times on the last Vikings drive. Dude was way too full of himself.

Odious franchise, always full of false bravado, dating back to forever.

Surprised to see Bud Grant still kicking around. Was a fossil 53 years ago in SB IV.

Very surprised to see Bud Grant, although I think he’s looked like that since elementary school. Have to admit, I did have a soft spot for those Vikings teams in the 70s.

The Purple People Eaters were impressive but on the other side of the ball, couldn't stand future huckster Fran Tarkenton. Hard to believe that Bud had a whole career in the CFL before getting an NFL job. Still, his legacy of coming up short endures.

In SB IV, Grant was thoroughly out-coached by Hank Stram. Vikings didn't shift or use motion on offense, and were totally unprepared for the exotic formations and movement of the Chiefs offense.

In SB VIII it was Shula who out-schemed Grant, some of which is detailed here:

Never got out of gear against the Steelers in IX either.

On the wrong end of the original Hail Mary as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je56RO ... ennyTilley

And not enough time to chronicle all their more recent foibles in the Denny Green and Zimmer eras. Oh well...

No doubt. I just liked them for playing in the arctic in the most ridiculous stadium in the league under the gaze of the most severe looking coach in the NFL. There was a charm to them that they completely lost when they moved indoors. Tarkenton was an annoying little git, but I did like Chuck Foreman. And Bob Tucker ended his career there. He was one of my favorite Giants in those dark years.

Some turnaround by Lawrence.

I put it down to Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks doing the anthem pre-game. :)

Oh man. Not again. Russell Gage is down for an extended period. Speculating, but it looks like it could be a broken neck or back. All players have taken a knee.

A much more determinative question is can the defense play a helluva lot better? Giants defense not great for most of the game vs. Minnesota and one of the most penalized and worst vs. the run.

Will be interesting to see what approach the Philth takes on offense. They've been an excellent running the ball but only a middling passing team. Will be interesting to see how patient they'll be with the run. Younger coaches have a tendency to get enamored with the passing game.

Much of Philth success due to not turning the ball over. As always, turnovers and penalties decide games.

Divisional round is my favourite of the season. I’ve booked Monday off so I can watch all four games live. Can’t wait :D

Mahomes is hobbled. Interesting to see how long he'll be able to keep going. Both teams have been moving the ball.

He started on fire. This one has just got ( even more) interesting. Henne taking his first meaningful snaps of the year.

Henne looks right at ease. Drives the team right down the field for a score.

I don't know what Mahomes is doing back in the game. He's literally hopping on one leg. Bad idea, imo.

Worked out, although Jax kind of screwed themselves. Turnovers and penalties.

Now...South Philly...smell the venereal disease

Don’t get going for it on 4th and 8 at midfield. I appreciate being aggressive, but I don’t think that was the time or place.

Eagles running the Giants off the park right now. Maybe don’t give them such a short field next time.
