Re: NFL For Dummies
TNF wasn’t a classic (brutal is the word used online) another concussion though, are these wobbly legs happening more (or we just more aware?)

Re: NFL For Dummies
20-20 in the fourth. We just wasted our possession due to Rodgers trying some Hollywood passes, 9 mins left and the Giants have the ball.
Only one winner methinks...and it ain't gonna be the Packers.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Fuming with Rodgers.
Absolutely livid.
Giants go 4-1, Pack go 3-2.
Being out scored 17-2 in the third and fourth quarters is unforgivable.
Ah well...at least there's the Dolphins vs Jets to look forward to!

Re: NFL For Dummies
That's a little harsh on the Giants. Rodgers had a good game until the last minute of the game. Nevertheless, Dan Jones was excellent again. If the Giants can get their offensive line to gel a bit they could have a say on who makes the playoffs, especially with the way Jones is managing games. He needs better protection though, or he may not make it the rest of the season. 4-1 though. Still early days but I don't think many would have predicted that.
What happened with the fins and jets today? Score was a rout. I thought the Jets were supposed to stink. They're not stinking. And that stinks.

Re: NFL For Dummies
They stuck 40 points on Miami...and looked superb doing it. They definitely don't stink...keep this form up and they'll make post season!
Probably was a little harsh on the Giants, and they were defo good value for the win. As I said though, going through the second half of the game and getting beat down like we did...awful stuff.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Jets at home beat a 3rd string rookie QB who had zero practice time with first team. You're supposed to win those games, and they did. Losing would have been way more consequential than winning it is. Leading up the game, Jets fans were already grumbling about needing a new coach and GM. Lose that game and there'd have been a massive spike in fan outrage. Now they have two difficult road games @GB and @Denver, then Bills and Pats back to back. Some easier games after that, but they look to be a .500 team, which is a clear improvement over the recent past. Most important thing for this season is to establish their QB.
The Jets have a more talented roster than the Giants, especially when it comes to starters. The Giants have so many question marks among the guys who are supposed be at the forefront - a combination of health, attitude as well as ability. What they appear to have is an exceptional coach. Early days of course, but Daboll has shown himself to be a quite capable in-game coach, and his preparation and training methods sure seem to be on-point too. Dallas or Philly will probably win the division this year, but that's not because they're better coached teams. Eagles barely beat Detroit and Jacksonville, and deserved to lose to Arizona last week - but benefitted from a poorly-coached, undisciplined opponent beating themselves. They have one quality win so far, vs. the Vikings. They have a super-easy schedule going forward, so even if they lose to Dallas this weekend, their inflated record will flatter them unjustly come playoff time. Dallas also only has a couple difficult games on the schedule: trips to GB and Minnesota, so should also finish with double digit win total. That will also be misleading. However, that will all buy time for the Giants long-term. They probably finish around .500 as well, but like the Jets, in the larger arc, it gets them in a better position for the future in a more meaningful way than having a top 6 pick in the draft again would. The big questions will be what happens with Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley should they continue to thrive this season. Both are unsigned going forward, and the cap is still a problem. The alternative to having players you can't afford to re-sign is to not have players at all, which isn't any better. Joe Schoen will have his work cut out for him this offseason. However, for now, I am perfectly happy to watch Big Blue overachieve. Last Sunday was the most enjoyable regular season victory we have had in ages. It's not just that they're winning, it's how their winning. Even noted Giant-hater Mark Schlereth calling the game for Fox got all fired-up with the way the Giants got up off the mat and relying on 3rd and 4th string players, bossed the Pack off the field. Long may it continue!

Jets @ Packers.
No idea what's going wrong with the Packers offence, but it sure isn't clicking...and a Jets win would not surprise me at all

Re: NFL For Dummies
Jets up 17-3. They're good value for the win, and thoroughly deserve it.
No excuses from the Packers o line...just very, very poor this season. Especially with Cobb going off injured...which just adds to the woes.

Re: NFL For Dummies
The Jets!
Love to see them make post season. They have a plan, from top to bottom, and it's working for them.
Packers...ugghh. We look the opposite of the jets...no plan, disjointed offence and far too many injuries.

Tampa lose again, vikings 5-1 never saw that coming. Colts pull a win out of the hat.
Looking forward to Buff@KC. (First half before bed)

Re: NFL For Dummies
Giants are 5-1 too. Already one more win than all of last season. Only saw the highlights. Looks like the Giants forced 2 big turnovers late, one to set up the lead and the other to kill the game. This Daboll fellow has got them ticking. I don't know when the last time NYC had 2 good teams at the same time. Early days of course, but WFAN (or whatever today's equivalent is) must be a happier listen these days.

Watching the Chiefs v Bills, and there is a woman somewhere near a field mic that has been making the old 50's western movie indian war cry noise for every play of the first half. It's doing my head in. I wouldn't be able to not tell her to shut it if I were sitting nearby.

Re: NFL For Dummies
On mute now. Can't take her anymore.
Bills and Chiefs doing again in the last half minute of the half. Bills drive 94 yards in 20 seconds and score a TD. Chiefs drive and kick a 63 yard FG into the wind with no time on the clock.

Re: NFL For Dummies
The NFL is amazing compared to our crappy Premier League.
At this rate we will have a Jets v Giants superbowl. There is no form book any more.

Just caught up on the Bills KC second half. Worthy of the Super Bowl had everything. Fantastic game.
