Re: NFL For Dummies
KC/Buff what a game, the quality of both QBs is unreal, shame they cannot face each other in the Superbowl.

Re: NFL For Dummies
How did the Bills lose after scoring a touchdown with 13 seconds to go?
Yes a brilliant game. Yes two incredible QBs playing out their skin. But the Bills should not have given that up. I'm no defense coach but maybe they set up too negative for those plays?
Cost me a fortune too in lost bets.

I’ve absolutely loved the play off this year so far. Can’t wait for Championship games on Sunday

Re: NFL For Dummies
how did the Bucs lose after coming back from 27-3, tieing the game with the clock virtually run out and the only way the Rams win is to get something like what 70 yards plus or minus, in about 10 seconds ?Bend it like Repka wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 6:17 pm How did the Bills lose after scoring a touchdown with 13 seconds to go?
defensive coach and co-ordinator should be fired after that debacle....well, not really but even so...how the heck, with that many coaches, allow TWO plays to win the game ? at that time of the game ? I would have backed the Bucs to win in O.T., they were on such a roll........
what an aboslutely mad last 10 minutes or so with the things that happened there.
never seen anything like it, in that short amount of time..

Re: NFL For Dummies
First, with 17 seconds left, they kicked the ball out of the end zone rather than either squib kicking, or even drop kicking a moon kick into the atmosphere. That gave the Chiefs the ball on the 30 with 13 seconds left. Had they kept the ball in play on the kick, the Chiefs likely start at the 35ish with 6 or 7 seconds left to run 1 play. Squib kick and Bills win. And second, for some inexplicable reason, with an exhausted D the Bills lined up with 4 men on the D line line rather than play a prevent defense. It was a hell of a time for the coaching staff to make mistakes. McDermott was fuming about it after the game and toed the line of throwing his coaches under the bus.Bend it like Repka wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 6:17 pm How did the Bills lose after scoring a touchdown with 13 seconds to go?

No doubt this round made up for last weeks games where nearly every game was a blowout. The games over the weekend were all thrillers, but three of them verged on farcical with mistakes and bad decision making. Rams probably should have won their game by 3 or 4 touchdowns, but they just kept shooting themselves in the foot, over and over again. And how does Joe Burrow get sacked 9 times, 9 times?? and still win? Exciting, but a little farcical from the Titans. Thank goodness for Chiefs v Bills. And come on NFL, shange the OT rules once and for all. You telling me you wouldn't have wanted to see more of that game?

Re: NFL For Dummies
That Buccs Rams game was something else. How we got away with that in the end is anyone's guess. It's like Tampa switched off for those last few seconds.
Stafford stepped up when needed, as did Kupp and the pair of them got us to a point where Gay could kick us to victory.
Now onto our bogey team

Re: NFL For Dummies
49ers have more than a little NY Giants from 2007 about them. Beware a team that is winning all games on the road, has a mediocre QB that is on a bit of a hot streak, is playing loose and stress free, is getting the bounces and has a very good defense. Rams should win, but if they make the same mistakes they did against the Bucs, or even half the mistakes they made they'll be eliminated. Rams get through the NFC Championship I reckon they've got a solid shot at winning the SB.

Re: NFL For Dummies
As Bills fan since the Marv Levy era that was a real disappointment, but I think this team will finay lay the ghost of Scott Norwood at some point soon
As an aside, I left my house to take my wife to hospital to give birth just after KO and my son was delivered near the end of the 4th quarter!

Congrats to you CH & your Missus. That's the best tonic for Buffalo disappointment.Crouchend_Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 9:57 am As Bills fan since the Marv Levy era that was a real disappointment, but I think this team will finay lay the ghost of Scott Norwood at some point soon

Re: NFL For Dummies
 I know, what a turnaround, chuffed for Cincinnati, well deserved. Burrow, Mixon, Chase, Boyd and Higgins is as good an offensive 5 as there is in the NFL.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Got to get past my boys the Rams next. Home advantage, and favourites surely, not that that has seemed to have helped much this season. Deffo the year of the underdog.
Will be another close game. All about if Stafford can find Kupp and OBJ enough to get it done.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Rams offense is not far behind Cincinnati but overall I give LA the edge because of Donald, Ramsey and Miller.

Unfortunately agree, as much as I hate everything about the Rams the D line is just too good

Re: NFL For Dummies
The last SB against the Pats was painful, so hoping for a better outcome this time.
I go on holiday Monday morning of the 14th, so I'm going to be totally ****ed that day after staying up late. Hopefully it will have been worth it.
