Re: NFL For Dummies
I don't like the Broncos. I used to have a soft spot for the sqwacks because my best friend was from Seattle, O loved the city and I loved those blue and silver uniforms. Now I think they should be kicked out of the league for wearing what they wore last night. wtf

Yeah, liked them just fine when they first came into the league. Definitely preferred them to their expansion contemporaries down in Tampa. The early days they had great character with Zorn and Largent, and their propensity for trick plays made for some good times. Some classic Facenda narration here:

Re: NFL For Dummies
heard a clip from the Broncos coach this morning..I paraphrase
yeah maybe with hindsight I wouldn't do it again. BUT. we had a mark we were trying to reach. and we reached it.
WHAT ????
you mean you actually set yourself a spot on the field that you would accept, that would have your kicker attempt a 64 yarder, and then when you made it you decided to go for the field goal.
the man's mad..........

Re: NFL For Dummies
He must have brain farted and thought they were in Denver at 5300 ft elevation. I'm sure McManus nails them in the thin air at practice from 67 yards all the time.

Re: NFL For Dummies
not sure but I "thought" I heard the commentary team say that he hasn't made anything over 51 yards. that number sticks in my head...
if true, and I heard it correct, it makes the decision even more weird.....

Maybe misheard? His career long was 61 yards, last year in low-altitude San DiegoCuenca 'ammer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 12:05 am not sure but I "thought" I heard the commentary team say that he hasn't made anything over 51 yards. that number sticks in my head...

Re: NFL For Dummies
I was a bit shocked when I head the NFL show was moving to ITV, but thankfully it's still the Osi and J Bell partnership in action.
Impressed with Laura Woods, as someone who's never really watched Sky didn't know much about her, but there's a good chemistry there.

Re: NFL For Dummies
I've been watching the Jets vs Browns game.
Absolutely superb stuff!!
I kinda like the Jets as a second team.
edit: and the Dolphins are taking it to the Ravens. Three down, 1st and goal, 24 seconds on the clock!

Re: NFL For Dummies
SF well i control against the Seahawks at halftime, looks like Lance might be out for a while though. I go to bed and as a (sort of) Bears fan what damage I am going to wake up to.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Yeah, that looked really nasty for Lance. Fingers crossed it ain't too serious but looks like it could be season over for the lad.
As a Packers fan, I'm hoping you wake up to a huge defeat!

Re: NFL For Dummies
Big shame, one man’s loss is Jimmy’s big gain. Amazing how that has worked out. His pure joy and the clear love his team mates have for him was really nice to see.
The cardinals v raiders ending was great, those 2pts conversions took some nerve.

Re: NFL For Dummies
Fingers crossed Lance makes a full recovery.
You could see how much Jimmy G was enjoying himself out there!
Cracking win for the Packers as well...went someway towards making up for West Ham being terrible, and my weekend wasn't totally ruined.

Re: NFL For Dummies
yet again, some late game heroics all over the league, but Shirley none more so than that Cardinals game..
watched the Texans game which was the same kick off time, but the network went over to that game for the over time.
bloody Nora..
also they broke in earlier to show a td by Murray where he took the snap and TWENTY ONE seconds ran off the clock while he scrambled around finally running the ball into the end zone himself..
the coach in Denver is getting pelters already.
8 minutes left in the 4th quarter and they were out of time outs.
his third one used because...
they forgot to get the punt returner onto the field when the Texans punted..
to say the crowd were not happy is a major understatement..
