It would be a shame if he caught covid and couldn't go to AFCON, wouldn't it ?Vic_Watson wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 8:04 pm Not as happy as she looked! Now I know who his super-fan on here is.

Algeria are defending champs and favourites to win so I don't think he'd be too chuffed.

I agree. With bit less '100mph' and a bit more head up composure and he could be excellent.Sloop John B wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 6:54 pm Very much agree with Aztec above...his final ball has been weal for much of the season. I like that he's direct and always tries to make things happen - which often means we lose possession but I'd rather that than sideways keep ball...however a bit more patience is key for him.

2 goals and an assist in his last 3 games. The assist Today was fantastic. Also involved in some other good bits of play. It’s a shame he’s going to the African Nations, especially as we have Norwich coming up soon now. He’ll be hard to replace.

Luckily we have Pablo to come back and I think he will slot straight in on the left sideil_martello_di_genovesi wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 9:11 pm 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 games. Faded in the 2nd half, but the link up play between him and Johnson was a joy to watch at times in the 1st half, and another great cross for his assist.
Typical that he finally gets back into form as he’s about to go to the ACON. But Vlasic had another bright showing when he came on. So I have faith in him and Lanzini to do a good job in Said’s absence.

He switched his barnet back to black for AFCON. He doesn't play as well with black hair. That's a scientific fact.

Re: ✍ Welcome to West Ham, Said Benrahma
That cross for Antonio's goal was inch perfect. Absolutely impossible to defend for the centre half and no chance beyond blind luck for the GK once Antonio touched it.
Benrahma is probably the player that frustrates me the most for us because he is capable of the utter sublime at times. If he could cut out the stupid tricks, too many touches, trying to go past one man too many etc and produce moments like that consistently he'd be one of the best players in the world.

I think he played a great pass to Coufal (?) in the second half, but nothing came of it. Absolutely fizzed across but directly to his target.

Frustrating as hell, but capable of the sublime.
Proper West Ham player.

Re: ✍ Welcome to West Ham, Said Benrahma
As you say, pretty much impossible to stop.
The keeper's got to get very lucky to stop a touch from Antonio at that pace/range.
I also had a hunch that, if Antonio didn't touch it, it was curling inside the far post anyway.

Re: ✍ Welcome to West Ham, Said Benrahma
The cross was almost identical to the one he did at Turf Moor last season.
