Can you still bring in non contracted players?
yes
"Free agents can be signed by a club at any time during the season, if they had been released by their previous club before the end of the transfer window. ... An existing loan deal can be made permanent at any time outside the transfer window."
Shall we go back and see which posters were saying it was good that we’d be relying on youth up front, or that Yarmo could do a good job there instead of buying/loaning someone?
Not trying to be vindictive, but it’s this kind of b*llocks that lets the owners off time and again for failing to invest in areas we are so obviously weak or short in.

A few of us endured pelters for weeks at the time Dodge, eerily quiet in here now though isn’t it.

It was often justified with a ‘it’s what Moyes wants’, when that was also clearly b*llocks as he said several times in the window we need another striker but he’d make do if we didn’t get one in.
The board have presented Moyes as someone who is very picky with the players he buys, but he said himself we tried for a few strikers in the window. Why didn’t the board go out all to get one of those he wanted? I’m guessing it’s because they cost more than 2 bob.

Exactly!
I do worry Moyes is a facilitator.
“I want x,y or z please Mr Sullivan, it’s either that or no one at all”
“No one at all you say.... hmmm let me think”
My favourite naysay was “Liverpool have CBs injured you don’t see them going out and getting replacements.” Cue Liverpool bringing in two CBs.
F*ck me, we ALL knew we needed to bring in another striker in the window. There were other positions we ALL knew we needed strengthening in too.
But...
The funds were clearly not there for the manager to bring in who he wanted (well, they were but Sullivan wouldn’t have spent it).
So what is the point in banging on about it? We just have to hope GSB f*ck off soon enough and leave the club in the hands of better owners who are more willing to back their manager with who he wants.

Nailed on that if we start dropping down the league, there will be leaks to the press the amount of money Moyes had to spend will start rising...until summer when it miraculously vanishes again.
Top 6, still in the FA Cup and we couldn't come up with one name to do a job for us?

Could it be possible that bringing Odubeko on then taking him off was a huge hint to the Dave's to get someone in now for the last 15 games?!
Diego Costa would soon put an end to a West Ham side being too nice with his utter **** housery.
I’m quite confident that Diego Costa will not sign a 4 month deal with West Ham. 2 season contract on stupid wages at the absolute minimum, genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted 3

He needs a shop window. And if he's not interested, with no other offers on the table then clearly it is all about money and we shouldn't go for him.

Agreed, also how long would it take him to reach anywhere near match fitness considering he has been unattached for over a month now.
