Behind the scenes videos

Post by Bond Holder 59 » Wed Nov 25, 2020 11:55 am

I’m relatively new to the site, so apologies if it’s a topic that has been done, but does anybody else like those behind the scenes video for West Ham games on YouTube?

Not so keen on the recent insertion of ads every 5 minutes, but hearing the calling from on the pitch, and from the side lines, is really interesting.

They also seem to get shots that TV miss like the player huddle when Seb scored, and his little “yes” cry as the huddle broke up. He wanted and needed that goal as much as any of us wanted it.

They don’t do one every match, and sometimes it’s training session content.

Have a look, and worth going back to the start of this season as you can feel the squad confidence growing episode to episode.

Yes I like those videos, they give a great insight into the players emotions during a game.
Often on here the link is put in the match day thread.

Yes, I like these, too. It's a bit more like being at the match compared to the standard TV coverage.

They’re excellent I think. Well done to the club’s media dept.

Yes, I think they are very interesting and the lack of background noise enhances the videos IMO

Obviously it is less easy to do now with Covid-19 protocols, but when possible it would be good to get more 'behinfd the scenes' footage i.e in the changing rooms/ corridors etc

I remember one of these videos a couple of years ago, after we had won an away game and it was great to see the celebrations amongst the players and coaching staff on the walk back from the pitch to the changing room

Was that the one with Kouyate shouting "clean sheet! Clean sheet!" As the team went into the dressing room?

They are well filmed. Good camera work. Well framed. I like the choice of lenses and the use of depth of field to create a view of a game that is different to the game we see on tv. Who ever is behind the camera should be applauded. They capture the grace and beauty of the game and juxtapose that with the speed of the game. I’m pleased someone has started a thread on the bts films. They really are enjoyable.

Really like them for all the reasons others have given.

They actually remind me of the official FIFA World Cup films from each tournament which give you much more of a sense of the atmosphere and intimate moments between players/coaches/etc. which otherwise just get lost in normal TV coverage. You lose some of the obvious surface drama of the game, but it actually gives you a much better sense of how elite football is played and what it might feel like to be playing at that level.

Yes, I like them.

Best thing in the latest one is seeing Moyes starting off the move for Soucek's chance. Never noticed that on normal TV.

The Ben Foster go-pro in the goal videos are good too - can't remember who it was but someone on here mentioned it a few weeks ago.

Well worth a watch even if it isn't WHU.

Edit - on youtube, I should add

Haller needs a couple of goals. Just one. Off his arse or his knee.

His confidence is completely shot.

Getting bounced off the ball in the first minute or two definitely affected him badly. But when you see that footage you realise how totally unlucky he was too. Shots blocked, worldie save. But he was winning headers and bringing others into play, much better in the second half especially.

The end part of that video sort of illustrated how Haller is taking it personally. Looks like he thinks his luck his out. Can't fault his endeavour recently - hopefully the 'luck' will come if he carries on giving it 100%.

Ogbonna - "Angie!!"

They need to go the full "Ange" .

I don`t think so. He kept trying as someone with no confidence would not have done.

They really weren't happy with those conditions were they!

Never seen the entire team look so miserable before, even before kick-off.
