Another vote for Strasbourg. Also done Brussels, Brugge and Copenhagen.

I think our best trip was a twin centre Munich / Salzburg one year. Those Bavarians know how to do Christmas markets. It did help that the snow come down that weekend.

Cologne. Us and The in-laws were going to go this Christmas, but health issues and the related financial implications have put pay to that.

Berlin is good mate. The old town Christmas market in Prague is ace, especially if it snows.

We're currently in Weymouth, enjoying it despite the rain.

Off to southern Spain next week for two weeks, our own villa with pool so no sharing with the great unwashed British public.

Aiming for Berlin in December, for my sixtieth :shocker:

Then New Zealand, via Singapore, with a week in the Cook Islands next February/March.

I've been to a few in Austria and Germany and I'd say Cologne is the biggest and best.
You can hop on the train to Aachen as well which has got an impressive cathedral as well as being a lovely town.

I'm going to try Wroclaw this year.

I'd like to go to the Alps next summer. Clean air, canoeing, mountain biking etc.

There'll be much nicer, much posher hotels, but we love the New Yorker, great location, good value, proper old school architecture, they have nice restaurant/bar on site too, as well as cracking Diner.

Request a city view room, and you can see the Empire State Building from your window.

Another vote for the New Yorker. Great location and value for money. Will be back there again in December.

Booked Thailand for March so starting to plan things to do, Phi Phi island is a must. Anything anyone can also recommend?

Also, flying with Emirates, is it worth upgrading from economy?

We stayed at the Crown Plaza Times Sq, was an amazing room, the bed was probably the best I've ever slept in.

Malaga booked for January next year. Flights less than £100. I should do something different next summer but I know I’ll end up in Malaga again.

We stayed in the Roosevelt hotel. Great location as grand central station is just a short walk

Got the pass and took the subway around for half and walked the rest
