Re: Summer Holidays
Fly out to Madrid on Thursday for six days.
Cheap easyJet flights from Brizzle airport and free accommodation courtesy of the in-laws (large bouquet of flowers notwithstanding) make me a very lucky guy.
Going to hit the museums & art galleries & catch up with my first born who is getting the train up from Valencia just to give her old man a hug. Fingers crossed a nice meal in a decent restaurant should be within budget.
Never been before & I’m really looking forward to it. Heard it’s really nice city.

Would recommend the Bernabeau tour - I’ve no affinity for RM, but quite impressive tour and a chance to lift the European CupJennings wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:27 pm Fly out to Madrid on Thursday for six days.

Also, the Queen Sophia Museum and seeing Picasso’s Guernica was amazing. Botanical Gardens and the Palace worth a visit too.

Really good recs that I’m going to take up. Just not the RM gig.
When in Spain, it’s the Mrs that wears the castanets so sadly I won’t get near a football stadium. “No hay fútbol durante las vacaciones” or words to that affect.

Nice, you'll have a great time - there is something for everyone there.
...one tip - do the Paragliding. You won't regret it, I promise.

Re: Summer Holidays
Majorca is great. One of the best places for a holiday, I think. Palma is extremely underrated and still, more a working Spanish city than a tourist destination. Tourists still flock to the resorts of the east coast and hardly ever venture outside their resorts and scarcely never explore the wonderful interior of rural Majorca, where there are some terrific eateriesRaddyKovac wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 5:42 pm Off to Palma de Majorca next Saturday.

At Tijuana airport bar. Barman remembered me. Well he remembered my West Ham face mask.
Beer, margaritas and tacos then we're off escaping the miserable southern California weather for sunnier climes.

Re: Summer Holidays
Shabu, it’s 10+ years since I was in Vallarta so can’t vouch for what they’re like now but if you are looking for something different and a bit of adventure then check Eco Ride Mountain Bike Tours. You’ll find them in the small cobblestone streets up the hill from the Malecon, near the flea-market island before you cross into Zona Romantica.
Done a couple of day tours with them. Took me up into the Sierra Madre from town, and it gets very rural very quickly, so you’re soon on deserted dusty trails, climbing through shady forests and stopping off for cliff jumps into icy waterfalls and a few Pacifico’s in quiet pueblo’s. The guides were great, the bikes first class, and the views you get from up there down to the coast were breathtaking.
I’d recommend taking a look as I know you love a wee cycle
