Fulham 0-0 West Ham Utd (06/02/21)

Post by paulhs1 »

17.30 Saturday 6th February

Seeing as I've now got 100% record having started the VIlla thread I thought id get this up and running.

Another 3 days of rest between games means we need some squad rotation for this match with the big cup game coming up.

I'd go with

Fabianski
Fredericks Balbuena Diop Johnson
Bowen Rice Fornals Lingard
Lanzini
Yarmolenko

Antonio and Soucek available from the bench if required.

Another win and we could be back up to 4th if results go our way :scarfer:

Same team as you, except I would put Benny in for Lanzini.
Soucek must be running on fumes and Antonio needs protecting for Man Utd on Tuesday.

I didn’t see your back 4
Mine would be the same as last night.

As much as I love seeing our league position & winning I would personally rest many for the cup game, we need the team fully fit & ready to go against Man United. (Coufal, Antonio, Soucek & Oggy rested - at the very least).

Fulham a few weeks back were on a bit of an upward curve, they seemed to have dropped off again.

So I have no issue with Moyes changing it all up, if that means we lose or draw then so be it. Saying all that, players when winning don't get as tired as they want to keep playing, so I have no idea what is the best thing to do :D

16 games to go in the league versus 4 games from winning the cup..

Personally, I don't want to see Antonio, Soucek, Rice and Ogbonna anywhere near the stadium on Saturday.

I'll do my usual. Typical West Ham will crash back to Earth with a lackluster performance where half the forum slags off Moyes and someone tells us to send Lingard back to Man U because he is crap.

Unchanged team for me. If someone breaks down later in the season, deal with it when it happens, rather than pre-empt. Confidence is good, so if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it.

Get the points on the board now whilst we have momentum.

I'm sure Moyes will do just enough to keep key players rested. We don't want be disrespecting them where it gets their backs up and it come back to bite us in the a**e. Would definitely like to see what Afolayan has got to offer though.

You'd need to watch Brentford to find that out...

Play the kids for this one. Should be good enough to beat the likes of Fulham. I'd even stick Randy in goal

I actually wouldn't mind the same team. Lookman was very good against us last time and so that same right hand side set up wouldn't be the worst thing.

Moyes may look at bringing in Bowen for Fredericks and maybe Yarmolenko for Antonio but yes I agree , keep going , keep the momentum going and keep winning .

Moyse may have a job keeping players out, there seems to be a real team coming together and everybody wants to play a part. There will be some tired bones out there but when you’re playing well, you run on adrenalin. Just like ‘86 through that harsh winter. Me talking about ‘85/86 ? How unusual. :asleep:

Back down to earth here.

I'm sure Moyes will take nothing for granted, but Fulham wont roll over and let us tickle their tummies.

We need to be at this 100% from the start.

I can see us either giving them a tonking, or reality coming crashing down and them nicking a workmanlike 1-0.

Same team but swap out Fredericks for Bowen.

My bad. I meant Odubeko.

Sorry it's still early (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). Cheers DL.

This feels like the game Benrahma will open his account - with a sublime chip.

Get at them. Be patient with the ball. Win the game. Move on. :crest:

I would make one change, Bowen for Benny to see how he links up with Lingard. Confidence is high, hopefully get a couple of goals to the good before half time and then make the changes and rest key players.

I have a feeling that wholesale changes will be our undoing and, as you say, we have momentum and want to keep that going.

Bowen for Fredericks the rest unchanged.

IF he wants to rest some, then maybe Fredericks for Coufal and Yarmo for Antonio.

I'd probably bring bowen in for fredericks as they don't have a grealish to keep quiet. Other than that whilst the confidence is flowing keep playing them.

on the basis that Moyes won't make wholesale changes. I'd tinker with the formation as i can't see another to give Soucek and Antonio a well needed rest. Would equally be happy to bench Coufal for Fredericks but i'd go;

Fabianski
Balbuena Diop Cresswell
Coufal Rice Fornals Johnson
Lingard
Bowen Mipo

But Moyes will start Noble in this one.
