Losing water from central heating system?

Post by Mr_incredible »

So having bled my radiators about 6 weeks ago, I'm now finding that my highest radiator in the house seems to not be heating even half way up. I'm guessing I have a leak somewhere....but not somewhere obvious where I can see. Do I need a specific type of plumber to investigate this....is there a clever way they can find where a leak could be?....or do I need to just start tearing up floorboards.
Thanks Steve

hello mate, not always a leak. could be the pressure vessel inside the boiler (if you have a combi boiler) or could have a external one near cylinder. it loses air pressure in it and probably needs pumping back up with a foot pump. normally find loft conversion rads get air in them as the system is too big for the vessel. there are ways to isolate the boiler to make sure there's no leak in that. not had any carpets fitted recently? they're good at putting screws into pipes fitting grippers down.
