I don't think it will be one to remember barring a miracle...
I can see one or more doing a 'Swann' can coming home after a couple of heavy defeats early on.

We may nick one test. Could end a few careers. Especially the captains one.

You have to fear the same old outcome with this squad. Yes we have had bad luck, the aim was for Stone and Archer to fight fire with fire, and once again we are missing Stokes, but we have fallen into the trap of shrugging our shoulders and going with our best bowling attack for English conditions.

Batting, a huge amount depends on Burns/Hamed/Malan. There is some potential there, but they have to step up or we have no chance. Root cannot do it alone.

Bowling. If we go in with Anderson/Broad and Woakes in the same team then it will not end well. Massive pressure on Wood to stay fit. Is Dom Bess the answer? Should we have picked Parkinson to at least offer something a bit different?

You fear we are not going to take 20 wickets with that attack....

Such a shame we won't get to see Archer on Australian wickets.

If they haven't sorted out his elbow properly, it's unlikely he'll ever play test cricket again and will just stick to white ball.

Deep down they probably know that it's going to be a slog out there with that attack.

Gary Ballance about to be cancelled quicker than a kitten jumping up and down on the delete key.

There is no way back for him from this in the modern world, no matter how 'affectionate' the term were

Some of Yorkshire's key partners/sponsors are distancing themselves from the county now too. This should have been sorted out a long time ago ........and properly. :thdn:

Pretty strong stuff from the ECB. There can't be anyway the board and leadership of the club remain in my eyes.

Yorkshire banned from hosting England games

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59169535

Yorkshire have been suspended from hosting England matches as the England and Wales Cricket Board delivered a devastating rebuke over the club's response to racism experienced by former player Azeem Rafiq.

The ECB board says the ban will last until the club has "clearly demonstrated that it can meet the standards expected".

It added it is "clear" Yorkshire's handling of the issue is "wholly unacceptable and is causing serious damage to the reputation of the game".

Vaughan now in bother, I wonder if he'll keep his BBC gig? He denies it all but you don't usually get a pass on these sorts of things (guilty or not)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59170256

Former England captain Michael Vaughan says he was named in Yorkshire's Azeem Rafiq report but "totally denies any allegation of racism".

An investigation found Rafiq had been a victim of "racial harassment and bullying" while at the club.

Vaughan says the report states he told a group of Asian players, including Rafiq: "Too many of you lot, we need to do something about it."

But Vaughan says he "completely and categorically denies" saying that.

It's an interesting one. The Yorkshire Chairman has walked, but looks like he's trying to drag the ECB with him a little bit. Claiming that he had asked for help in sorting this but none was forthcoming.

It sounds like the issues are pretty deep-rooted. Glad that they've come down hard.

This is the end of Vaughan now that one of the other Asian players has corroborated Rafiq's claim. No doubt Adil Rashid will be asked about it soon. His constant trolling of India fans on Twitter won't help his cause either.

It''s begun. Vaughan's been stood down from his Radio 5 show.

Vaughan cancelled, burn the witch! It’s 2021, we all know an accusation by a person of colour equals irrefutable proof, no evidence required.

I'm uncomfortable Vaughan has been punished before a trial. I'm not saying he's not guilty but losing his livelihood here.

Vaughan hasn’t been sacked. He’s been stood down from his 5live show with Tufnell based on the fact that his position is compromised for him to be on a cricket talk show that HAS to talk about this incident and he has been one of the party’s accused.

It’s a temporary suspension whilst the case is being discussed. Let’s be honest, this is the biggest story in English cricket right now, so having one of the accused on a Cricket talk show would be a little odd wouldn’t it. Especially if he was found guilty.

Regardless Rafiq was clearly getting bullied at Yorkshire and no-one stepped in. That means there is a culture issue there, but it also means that Rafiq will have felt that everyone was against him and that any comments would have been analysed more than normal. Yorkshire have ****ed up here, but by not sorting this out, and by not having systems in place to help Rafiq at the time, they’ve left every individual open for this. Whatever the outcome, Vaughan was a senior member of the team and management at the time, he (like everyone else in a senior position) has to hold his hands up to a certain extent here.

The culture comes from the top and people like Vaughan and Ballance would have been people who could have helped, it looks like they haven’t.

I didn't think this story about Rafik had much mileage when it first broke, but it appears to be gathering pace. What needs to be resolved is the disconnect between cricket and local minorities in the community(although in some areas they are the majority). Cities such as Leeds and Bradford, have large South Asian populations and when the Indian and Pakistan tour rocks up in town, their supporters, virtually all of them born here, are there in huge numbers, yet where are they when Yorkshire are playing Glamorgan in the county championship ? Cricket needs to reach out to them, but clearly it isn't and until such time that it does, stories like this will continue to break

Yorkshire have done it wrong at pretty much every step.

Denying it happened,
Being forced into a investigation
Refusing to release the findings until forced to do so
Sending a redacted reported to Rafik
Punishing no one even though they found 'wrong doings'

List goes on really.
