The Secret Boomer Hop... hit-free tracks from 1945-1965
In view of the rise of Boom Radio, here's a home for those hidden musical gems made in the twenty or so years just after 1945..... ( no big hit Elvis, Cliff, Chuck, Buddy, Jerry Lee, Beatles, Supremes, Stones etc).
The hidden 'Gold'.

Re: The Secret Boomer Hop...
Sorry, Viet - I don't know . The song (I presume you mean the 5 Du-Tones one) is covered in the Blues Brothers and features on the original Ricki Lake Hairspray soundtrack. A lot of those holler-back songs are a bit reminiscent of Shout, Twist and Shout etc - the sort of song all the Merseybeat bands were covering and turning into hit records by about 1963/1964, two/three years after the American originals.
This one is The Big Bopper dispensing invaluable marriage advice - it would never make it past the radio censor these days

Seeing as he has made an appearance in LC's review of the Rolling Stone 500, here's Jerry Lee Lewis & Special Guest with one of his best, lesser known tracks...a Ben E King and Drifters cover - a smoother mover than usual from the Ferriday Fireball.
