We do look very fit for this stage of pre season, agree with all the above re the defence tho... Fredericks, Diop & Randolph particularly poor today... We are electric on the break though & some of Coventry's through balls immediately after breaking up play were sublime...

Tarkowski is an excellent defender.

And Nat Phillips, though I wasn’t suggesting I wanted him like the poster implied, was exceptional against us and is also well regarded by Liverpool fans and only 4th choice because he is behind Van Dijk, Konate and Matip.

I wonder how much he has actually seen Caleta-Car and Milenkovic play, because they would be coming with questions (and not universal rave reviews) from those who watch their clubs and league every week.

Nah there’s no correlation to worry about really. These players are worlds apart from that Avram team. It’s going to come down to whether we can make the three or four quality signings to augment the weaker areas of our squad.

As always, like a few key moments we’ve had before, GSB will determine whether we push on and do something special or fall apart at the seams.

Phillips does the basics well, but he moves at the speed of a snail and is **** on the ball. He could've fit in at a top club a decade or more ago when there was less expected of a centre half but the game's developed.

Great result today, yet it’s a friendly and others have said we still need another striker and some more transfers to cover other positions, I wouid not let Bowen go at any price that kids got a lot more to come I’m sure, we can’t rely on Antonio as the premier league can be a gruelling time and with the added games in the europa we need good reinforcements to push this team on and that means serious dough for which I’m not sure our board will back. Well done again to the lads

I’ve not seen us looking so good attacking wise in pre season before. We are banging the goals in consistently and I’m not worried about the defensive aspect as we have Rice, Soucek and Coufal to come back in.

I didn't see the game. I read they started with a full strength squad. Were they experimenting with a new system or something? It's just a pre season friendly and it's a different Celtic and all that, but letting in 6 sounds like they were mucking around with something maybe the players weren't familiar with. If not, then :shock: .

I had a brief hike through some Celtic forums to see what they're saying, and one thing that popped up several times was that Ajeti is regarded a lot more highly than Edouard. That's a little worrying given how frequenty we're linked with him.
