Re: Tennis 2021
The whole zealotry behind the mandatory vaccine movement is a bit weird. Who is Djokovic going to affect bar himself? This is just a political punishment.
Me and the wife are vaccinated. She got it despite having three separate vaccinations.

"Australia has revoked tennis star Novak Djokovic's visa for a second time in a row over his right to remain in the country unvaccinated.
The decision on "health and good order" grounds means he could be deported and get a three-year visa ban.
However, the 34-year-old Serbian can still launch another legal challenge to remain in Australia."
I wait for Serbia to declare war on Australia now. This national insult cannot go unanswered.

It's a perception IMO that the rich and famous don't have to abide by the same rules as the rest. That he, or others, can not only do as they please but can make it clear that they're doing so.Ironing Board wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 7:33 am The whole zealotry behind the mandatory vaccine movement is a bit weird. F' him, F' him right in the ear.
Re: Tennis 2021
Well anyway, it’s not about mandatory vaccinations - it’s about conditions of entering a foreign country. Bye Novak

Absolutely. Just because he has a lot of money, he needs to understand the law applies to him as well

- If you're vaccinated, you don't pass on coronaviruses as efficiently if you're notIroning Board wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 7:33 am The whole zealotry behind the mandatory vaccine movement is a bit weird. Who is Djokovic going to affect bar himself?
- If you're vaccinated, you are much more likely to stay out of ICU or having going through a more severe illness

Re: Tennis 2021
I'm not overly interested in Tennis or Djokovic who seems to be an arrogant,,egotistical weirdo. However, listening to reports from Melbourne on the radio, they seem to suggest that the Covid protocols at the tournament are very lax indeed. This guy even told them he had it while he was playing!!
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.skyspo ... qualifying
And then there is the Aussie PM, who having gone for the whole "zero covid" thing in a big way for the last two years, seems to have done a complete 180 and decides to "let it rip".
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnew ... /rcna11509
So deporting NoVax is a slightly odd decision isnt it? I mean what better way to let it rip that allowing a diseased and dangerous foreign super-spreader to lurk in their midst?

It Was a decision based entirely on the Australians making a point to their populace and the outside world
ooo, look at us, we take Covid so seriously. No matter who you are you will have your civil liberties curtailed

Failed to disclose he went to Spain in the previous 14 days.
It was an 'error' by one of his team and not a 'lie' , honest guv..

Radacanu out and Murray looking like he's probably approaching the end.
Not a great day.

Yeah was a shame that, she fought on well though despite being obviously hampered by it.kenthammer1984 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 9:15 am looks like a blister on her finger has potentially cooked Emma's goose!

Re: Tennis 2021
As mentioned last summer by CRS I think, Murray looked like he may bow out at Wimbledon last year. Somehow he's carried on and clearly and understandably doesn't want to let go as he was injured in his prime. I hope he gets to Wimbledon this year and then packs it in before he embarrasses himself.

Re: Tennis 2021
Something 'iffy' about No-vax's Positive test result. Was it all fake or did he lie about the time line?
Not only lying about where he had been but now potentially ****ing test results. That sort of thing gets 'normal' people in hot water.
https://www.bbc.com/news/59999541
"Doubts have emerged over the timing of the positive Covid test Novak Djokovic used to enter Australia to try to compete in the Australian Open.
It was provided to exempt him from rules barring unvaccinated people.
However, the serial number on his test on 16 December appears out of sequence with a sample of tests from Serbia over this period gathered by the BBC.
It is also higher than for his second (negative) test result from six days later."

The current situation in the men's tennis is a reminder of the benefits of an extensive doping programme.

Ashleigh Barty has announced her retirement. She's 25, she's the current World number one ranked player and has been for almost three years, she's the former French Open champion, she's the reigning Wimbledon champion and she won the Australian Open only a couple of months ago.
