Yeah, this is ugly. If Italy tidies up that final phase of play when they attack this is going to be a very lopsided score.

Swiss are giving Italians the channels and are getting punished there. Wonder if Italy will rue not having a bigger lead.

I couldn’t stand Clive Tyldesley but Sam Matterface is making a pigs ear of replacing him isnt he ?

Just waiting for him to come out with a “Swiss rolled over” pun to finish it all off.

Italy on the other hand are looking excellent again.

Italians looking electric, lovely movement. Peaked too early? They are going to be hard to beat, though they have had so much space in their first 1 and a half games. France (and hopefully England) would never allow such freedom.

I do think they’re playing well. But I think they’ve been flattered by to very poor performances by the opposition

Yes. Turkey and Swiss have been very poor. I think wolf might be right. You really don't want to peak now.

I agree. Both Turkey and Switzerland are not very good but created chances themselves, where had they had a quality finisher, would have had a goal or two. Spain will bore us to death, Germany are in transition and France are, well, French. Stand out teams for me are Netherlands and Belgium.

Italy should be 6-0 here, some poor finishing.
I do agree that the quality of Turkey and Switzerland has flattered Italy somewhat but you can only beat what’s in front of you.
I still see Italy going very deep in this tournament and definitely contenders to win.

I don't think the Italians will peak too early. I think they'll keep going in this tournament until someone better beats them, and I can't see many better teams right now.

Shaqiri has been a complete bust in their 2 matches. Waste of space.

Italy are supremely organised and you can see they have immense team spirit. To say nothing of their fitness levels

Immobile has just sealed it with a peach of a strike.

He's just won the golden boot in Serie A with Lazio and isn't a bad shout for the golden boot here too.

Yes, but only if he shoots from outside of the box apparently :winker:

Assuming they beat Wales, Italy should breeze the rd of 16 match, I would think. And they'll probably face Belgium in the quarters. That would be a great matchup.
