The weather

Post by Monkeybubbles »

As far as I can recall, there are four seasons. Summer is the warm one. Occasionally rainy.

What the balls is going on now?

In the space of 90 minutes playing seven a side yesterday, we had torrential rain, icy hailstones, blistering sun and ridiculous wind.

And that ****ing tornado in Romford. What?

Someone is trying to tell us something.

It'll be the Jet Stream, it's all over the place at the moment. The polar jet stream instead of flowing fast and straight, it became very wavy. That, in turn, pushed the door to the wintertime Arctic wide open, allowing frigid air to spill far south. That's why Canada is sweltering at the moment (46 degrees to be precise or 116F in old money!).

and we're already getting 7 to 15 new fires a day in Nor Cal. Far earlier than usual. I know So Cal has had a bunch too. This year's fire season is probably going to be much more severe than last year's. I'm really not up for it.

The weather down here has been overcast and about 17C a lot this year. And drizzly on my days off. Different story inland and in the mountains where it's been hot and dry but coastal has been grey a lot.

And last year's were the worst on record, weren't they?.. :shocker:
Is there anything they can do to pre-empt it, Pete?
