World in motion or It’s coming home?

Seems to split the nation in two.

We all like Vindaloo though.

Three lions all day and every day, and I own every Joy Division and New Order LP, and have seen the latter live 4 times.

Love world in motion, but three lions is a universally great track - don’t need to be of a certain age or from a certain place to sing along

We need a new national football football song..
The best ones are all from the 90s.

Surely there must be some musical genius who can come up with a new anthem.
We have a few Hammers in the music business
Iron maiden and pixie lott combo anyone ?

Represents a tournament where we failed to even get past the quarter final stage

Didn’t even get a song for another 12 years because we were too **** to even qualify for tournaments, let alone compete to win the things.

Nope.

Ironically, “temptation” by New Order is why Ian Broudie started writing songs

30 years of hurt ?
Which actually turned out to be 55 years before we beat the germans.
I along with everybody else loves three lions and all the other great songs connected with football.

But the reality is nobody has come up with a decent football anthem for 20 odd years.
Still I dont suppose Skinner and Baddiel mind one little bit.

Its coming home, and I'd love to see Prince William and the gang singing it on wednesday night in his England shirt

Same here.

Three Lions was almost designed for chanting in the stands, whereas World In Motion just isn't that. Which is fine.

Agreed that we could do with another new terrace song, though.

World in Motion is a better song but Three Lions is unquestionably a better football song. It's always struck me as being remarkably similar to Bubbles in it's acceptance of disappointment and failure!

Always wanted Half Man Half Biscuit to do one. All I Want For Christmas Is A Dukla Prague Away Kit is comfortably the best football tune out there imho. Proper fans too - the Top of the Pops story is the stuff of legends.

Pray to God nobody commissions one mind - it would be Elton and Sporty Spice…

Sort of on the same theme - anyone else get as wound up by Sweet Caroline as me? I literally have to vacate a boozer if it’s on and when everyone goes ‘so good so good so good’, I go all Nietzsche.

Three Lions is the one to chant.

It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming! Football's coming home!
