Just listened to them both for the first time in Donkeys years & they're both sh1te. Skinner & Baziel one is good when sung by a bunch of drunks but the actual song is terrible.

Vindaloo a far superior song.

But we need a new song, Something that represents modern England. It has to mention......

Curry
Knives
Traffic jams
Brexit
Cheese
Binge drinking

And under no circumstances should the word Awesome be involved. Ever!

3 Lions by a country mile.

Surprised Kerry Katona hasn’t popped up yet singing a revised version of ‘whole again’. Surely she must be down to her last packet of turkey twizzlers from her Iceland contract?

Surprised it's even a contest?

A cringe record with footballers or a song that sums up the life of a football fan and is really good chant for the football

The amount of comments.. txt messages... Snippets of

"It's coming home" appear .. and gets chanted at the game is unreal

Rarely do you get someone bang out the

You've got to hold and give
But do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast
But you must get to the line
They'll always hit you and hurt you
Defend and attack
There's only one way to beat them
Get 'round the back

Nope me neither...

I suppose it can depend on your age

For me World in Motion is a better song & as others have said Footballs Coming Home has translated better to the terraces

Being 14 at Italia 90 though the song that evokes the greatest memories gets the emotions going is

Nessun Dorma by Pavarotti. Magic

I suppose as you get older life throws **** at you & it reminds me of not just England getting to the semifinals & the tournament as a whole but a simpler time in life 14 & not a care in the world

Yep, same here.

You’re never going to get tens of thousands singing World in Motion at a stadium.

I suspect there may be a generational divide in opinion though.

World in Motion for me. I was 16 at Italia ‘90. Strange how my GCSEs suffered.

Any attempt at a new England song will always be overshadowed by 3 lions. For the last World Cup the bloke from Kaiser Chiefs and Freddie Flintoff had a go at Rasputin (Harry Kane). So naff it was good.

World In Motion all day, every day. I Can't believe there's people that choose the Lightening Seeds over New Order and Baddie and Skinner over John Barnes. What has happened to society.

Three Lions is middle of the road, safety first, cheese on toast b*ll*cks. The instrumental of World In Motion is good enough but the lyrics and the comical Barnes rap make it, it features the team, it's endearingly catchy and it represents far more than just a football song too, with it came a cultural change in football in this country, for the better.

All this from a Wales fan who just wants the Super Furry Animals to release the mother of all World Cup songs when we land in Qatar!

Agree, can't stand Badiel and Skinner and their attempts to be the voice of the terraces.

I like the idea of doing a world cup song like that, but that's lame, you've got to have some passion in a football tournament song, they sound like they're slightly embarrassed to be doing it.

I think Sweet Caroline has to be a new official song for us though. Always hear it at lower league grounds up here. That sounded awesome at the end of the Germany game.

Good observation.
Failing that it has to be the inane singalong of Vindaloo.

As for Sweet Caroline, catchy but the sweaties have been singing it for years.
