"Bing" Noble.
He could make a fortune doing a White Xmas impression.

Well played that lad. Gives a whole new meaning to ‘going to Coventry’ for backup cm.

Eveyone looked good tonight. Special Shout outs to Coventry, Bowen and Benrahma for me. Holland impressed and looked very tidy on the ball, but I would love him to try and take some players on, this is definitely his last chance to get into the first team so he needs to take it.

Agree. Thought Johnson and Alves did themselves no harm either. Of course Reading are no real test, but imagine if we had struggled.BigFatSam wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 8:47 pm Eveyone looked good tonight. Special Shout outs to Coventry, Bowen and Benrahma for me. Yeah, good work out for the lads tonight. Looked better fitter, sharper all round than the first couple of matches which you would expect, really

Agree... he didn't do much wrong but that was mainly because he played it very safe. Needs to take a risk or two every now and again.BigFatSam wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 8:47 pm Eveyone looked good tonight. Special Shout outs to Coventry, Bowen and Benrahma for me. Decent game overall some great performances from Academy lads and some good gametime for the senior players. Reading didn't offer much and we controlled the game

Re: Reading v West Ham Utd: Match Thread
What is going on?
Why has Moyes got "suit" socks on with trainers?
Why has Bing Crosby been playing in midfield?
Is this the Inflatables depot-reject-wholesale-outlet@bicester reserves because it feels like our reserves have had 98% possession?
Either we're very good, or they are rank.

Re: Reading v West Ham Utd: Match Thread
We’re normally crap in pre season games, so this is a nice surprise...
Re: Reading v West Ham Utd: Match Thread
Coventry is a really good player and Bowen/Benrahma cutting in onto their stronger feet could be a really dangerous combination this season as I think they’re both going to step up. Holland seems to have it all - pace, size, technique - but too often slows up attacks or cuts back when he should carry on running. The one time he did run in behind he nearly scored. I think he may be one of those players who thinks too much about the game rather than letting his natural ability dictate the way he plays. Either that or he simply doesn’t have the confidence to get at the opposition.BigFatSam wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 8:47 pm Eveyone looked good tonight. Strange isn’t it but I thought he played well with his head up realising it was a team game. Coventry would not have got his goal if it had fallen to Benrahma not Holland. Holland sees Johnson, does not try to beat a man or take a shot but plays the pass. Benrahma tonight I doubt would have made the same decision, his first thought is can I create space for a shot.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 8:51 pm Agree... he didn't do much wrong but that was mainly because he played it very safe. I simply do not see Benrahma as a ten. The more bodies he has around him the less productive he is likely to be. He needs the space out wide offers. That said his work rate this evening was far more impressive.

Re: Reading v West Ham Utd: Match Thread
Looking forward to Celtic game now. Do you think Moyes knows something about our u23s that we haven’t seen? It’s like he’s a professional. I have been banging the u23 drum, but I hadn’t seen all that potential on the pitch together so was puffing my version of smoke and optimism.
Same young players need a big game against Celtic and then we will see.
