Re: The next gig you're going to
Liam has sold out both nights at Knebworth. Incredible really.
Makes you wonder how much they'd earn if him and Noel ever buried the hatchet. To be fair to Noel, he's said its never about the money but how long can he seriously be happy doing small gigs with people going batshit with Oasis material and politely clapping through the HFB stuff? I watched the recent Sky Arts special he did and it was pretty mediocre complete with backing singers in terrible naff stage outfits that had to be seen to be believed.

I like some of NGHFB stuff. Not sure I could sit through one of his gigs though.smuts wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 6:21 pm Liam has sold out both nights at Knebworth. Incredible really.

I wonder how much he'll make in royalties from LG doing Knebworth?

Is he entitled to anything from ticket sales?
If say The Stones banged out 2 hours of Beatles covers at a gig would Macca, Starr and the estates of Lennon and Harrison get anything?

Texas at Caird Hall in Dundee next February. Birthday treat for Mrs CRS but to be fair, I’ve always liked them myself.

Saw The Skids last night at the O2 place near the Angel. I always liked the music when I was a kid but wasn't a big Richard Jobson fan. Warmed to him these last few years - he's more self-depreciating than he used to be. Still got a feistiness about him, funny - he tells a good tale or ten, mostly to give himself and a couple of the other lads a break methinks. So much love in the place for them.
Next up, hopefully, James at Wembley Arena in December.

Steve Hackett tonight in Southampton, my wife loves old Genesis and will enjoy it. I will probably spend the time during the interminable twiddly bits thinking about entertaining gigs I've been to and the fact that I missed Black Stone Cherry to take her away for her birthday.

Blow Monkeys, Chinnerys, Southend, this coming Saturday.
I know there are a few on here that have been to Chinnerys - we went Friday to see JTQ (who were excellent as usual) and I am pleased to say the carpet in the venue has been either changed or miraculously cleaned. You no longer stick to it

AK/DK, last night in Brighton. A local band that sound like a mixture of Battles, Stereolab and Leftfield with elements of dub and the Dignity Of Labour ep thrown in. Never bothered with their records but seen them twice now, a great live band.

Re: The next gig you're going to
Apparently my wife bought tix to see Willie Nelson on Saturday. Love Willie Nelson, but I am not enthused. I hate the venue. It's outdoors, built on a rubbish heap and is way too far away. It's far too big. Forecast says we'll get rain. Fingers are crossed.
