Just got tickets for Bruce Springsteen, next year in Barcelona, first time seeing him and the E street band. Going with family, Dad's a mad Bruce fan. Can't wait.

Parquet Courts, tonight.
John Cooper Clarke, next Tuesday.
Jim White, the following Wednesday.
Maya Youssef, the Thursday after that.
I'm too old for this midweek malarkey.

Seriously considering a trip up to Lille in September to see the Wedding Present. Always seemed to just miss them when we were all young.

Saw them in Pompey a couple of weeks ago performing Seamonsters, and they were as good as they were back in the old days. David Gedge engaging with the crowd and was on the merch stall before and after the gig having a good natter.Toulouse_Iron wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 11:57 am Seriously considering a trip up to Lille in September to see the Wedding Present. Re: The next gig you're going to
Saw Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in Dundee last night and they were very good and played a lot more Oasis tracks than I thought they would. It was though the likes of Little by little, The Importance of Being Idle, Half the World Away, Wonderwall & Don’t Look Back in Anger that got the crowd fired up.
Last week Liam had two nights at Knebworth and he’s at Hampden Park in a fortnight and here was Noel playing a small 3,000 capacity venue. FWIW it’s great being at a smaller outdoor gig where you can still see the act clearly from anywhere you choose to stand.
They were supported by Inhaler, a band from Ireland whose lead singer, Elijah Hewson is none other than Bono’s son. His stage presence is very like his Dad’s and I must say I was pleasantly surprised how good they were, a very tight unit.

Next week, Einsterzende Neubaten - rescheduled (twice) from 2020, and now coinciding with a train strike.

Re: The next gig you're going to
Sir Elton John @ BST, Hyde Park. Anyone have an idea what crowds would be like if I arrived around 4pm with Elton due to start at 8pm? I don't really fancy seeing all 7 support acts so I think 4pm is a fair compromise. I haven't been to a proper concert for ages as opposed to small gigs or arena gigs.
