The Stranglers tonight, Southend
Feel like ***** today, but it will most likely be the last time I see them in any shape or form so got to be done
Billy
Watched them a couple of weeks ago in Brixton.......good gig, and like you, probably the last time?? My mate reminded me it was almost exactly 44 years to the day that we had seen them first.......also spoke with Physco who was standing behind me.
Next Gigs:
Interpol
Paul Draper (Mansun)
Rocket from the Crypt

Putting it like that makes you (me!) feel proper old - 44 years ago
A plus side of that, given the crowd is a bit on the older side - no beer chuckers
I really enjoyed it, was a bit apprehensive given the events of the past couple of years, but thought they really delivered. I half expected a Physcho cameo appearance at Southend for This Song
Small Fakers - 229 London on 5th March - Kenney Jones is joining them for the night
Altered Images - Chinnerys Southend - March 19th
Wedding Present - Chinnerys - May 7th
PS - I've never really warmed to Blur, or Damon Albarn in particular. But his show at the Troxy last night was excellent

It's all a bit weird as it seems like yesterday, then it dawns on me just how long ago it actually is.......but also reminds me of what a great few years that was, carefree travelling all over the place watching bands, so many gigs........fantastic, and God knows where I got the money from at that age, used to use the late night 'Mail Train' a lot getting in and out of London........sorry,,,,going on a bit now.....good times.
When we spoke with him our first thought was the same.....will he get up on stage, didn't ask him though, spoke about the football mostly as it was the same day as the Kidderminster FA cup game.
^^^^ First gig I ever went to was OMD many many moons ago.
They are great live and like many bands of their vintage, it’s always the old ones that get the crowd on their feet like Messages, Electricity, Enola Gay, Joan of Arc et al. Also seen them do a version of Kraftwerk’s Neon Lights

Dry Cleaning tonight.
Not really my thing, but I'll give it a go.
At the Wedgewood Rooms? I was there too - waiting for a beer!! It was OK - a few serviceable tunes and better live than the album, which I think is likely to fall off my radar!

Ah no, got my dates twisted, I actually went yesterday (Weds) in Brighton. Blimey they were dull. IMHO.
Not much in the way of unity on stage - as my mate observed, it was like members of 4 different bands up there. A shame really, I had higher expectations after hearing Scratchcard Lanyard.
